This image presented a bit of a challenge. The WIP version was pretty close to being finished when I'd abandoned it, but then I decided I'd try to finish any incomplete images I've posted here. Trouble is, in the time since I'd submitted the WIP version in 2011, I've not only completely changed how I color images, I'd also re-purposed this image for another project. Instead of creating a new file from the old one, I'd just changed the old one--keeping some layers (thankfully, the hair, swimsuit and background layers)--but deleting the skin shading and facial detail layers while creating new ones for the other project.

I have no idea what I was thinking. I couldn't find a backup of the original PSD file on any of my backup drives. The Layers were a mess; some were merged with layers they shouldn't have been merged with, they weren't in any semblance of order, and none of the layers were labeled. I spent a good hour just figuring out which layers belonged to which project.

TL;DR version: This is something of a digital restoration of the original file. The skin layers and shirt layers, are more or less from the newer project. The facial features were re-created from the original line art, while everything else was modified as needed to match current shading and coloring practices.

(I did create a new file this time around, though!)
