Description
Thought of Mr. Grayson as someone who's sort of a depressed and dark loner. He wouldn't be dark in terms of what he wears but mentally. To me he's at a stage some where in his mid to late 20's were he's already dealt with some pretty terrible hardships that continue make it's way in his daily , non crime fighting life. NightWing would be Dick's way of taking out all of his aggression..but on the killers and crooks. I thought that even though Grayson is trying to be his own hero, his outfit sort of show signs that his future has something even Darker waiting for him. This is my thought on the guy though....what do guys think?tools> Photoshop7, optical Mouse

Your thoughts on the whole "his future has something even darker waiting for him does such wonderful foreshadowing for how he later becomes Batman. Personally, I've always viewed Dick as one of the more cheerful or light-hearted characters, though this is an interesting spin on him. You've got such a cool art style! And thank you for ignoring the atrocity that is Disco!wing. *shudder*

I don't really like your take on Dick Grayson as dark and depressed, personally I think that kinda takes away what makes the character interesting and makes him sort of flat. What makes Dick Grayson a remarkable character in my opinion is that despite the childhood trauma it didn't make him a "dark" character like Batman. He still has his sense of humor, warmth and good spirit. I think if Nightwing was dark, depressed and all broody and aggressive he'd just be Batman Jr, and not really his own character.

Oooh. There's something a little taboo and a *lot* tempting about a darker!Dick, who was canonically born on the first day of Spring and given the nickname Robin by his loving mother accordingly. To me, Dick's childhood -- despite its objective darkness -- was filled with smiles and laughter and the joy of being able to use his impossible and impressive skills in order to make a real, tangible difference for an entire city -- and, with the Titans, for the entire world.
That said, a darker Dick is more than possible, but you have to question what would make him go that way, and what would make him choose -- and it would be a choice -- to let go of the warmth and joy he held onto for so long.
But that doesn't make this any less cool.

Dick has dealt with some crazy shit, but I feel as though his heart always shows through no matter how things go. I feel the anger would be all nightwing, with dick using the costume as an escape like you said but no matter what happens I feel like dick would never truly turn to :the dark side". I like this design though.

Pretty good.
Though it's funny, in the comic books, Dick is like the total opposite of Bruce, even when he's Nightwing. He's always smiling and joking around. Batman even said "He won where I lost. He never let them get to him"

I love the art but Dick Grayson isnt ever really a dark character, he's supposed to be a counterbalance to the dark character of Bruce Wayne/Batman even when bruce isn't around.

Wicked cool design. Very awesome...but the personality matches Jason Todd, more than Dick Grayson. O_o; At any rate, I really do love this design. It's gorgeous and sleek cool.
