I've always loved that Darth Vaders outfit was inspired by Samurai gear. I thought I'd play with his original design and incorporate some of that samurai shit along with some stuff I just had fun popping in there. Had a dandy playing with this piece a little lot.tools> pscs4, wacom cintiq

I have enjoyed your work so much in recent days. The 'childhood-gone-screwy' pieces are, in my opinion, amongst your best work. Samurai Vader though, is easily one of your best yet.

Yea, this would have made Vader not look lame lol yes, yes, I know, lynch me for my blasphemy, but I've always thought Vader's design was weak. And when it stood against all the cool fresh designs from the new films, it looked even worse...but anyway awesome revamp ^__^

I believe the best artwork are the pieces that encourage you to spend time taking in all the little details.
That's especially difficult to do when you've got so much competition on this site.
But when I opened up my inbox I was instantly drawn to this picture.
I've seen a million drawings of Darth Vader, most of the time it's just flat black, boring.
That's not the case here, I love the subtle mixture of cool colours and that honeycomb texture is a nice touch.
My eyes are particularly drawn to that arm. I don't know why but it just looks so good.
