So I sort of thought of Tony as a womanizing, Super intelligent, Incredibly mellow, Sarcastic, brilliant business minded, fast talking dude....whew. Which isn't all that different from how he is in the books now. The thing is that I feel that some of the way he acts is a way to avoid his past. The alcoholism, the take over of his company, him becoming homeless for a while, creating weapons of war for profit and of course the tragic death of his parents. So keeping his future in mind and his past out is what he does now. I think continuing to be visibly cool in public is a great way to prevent people from becoming suspicious of whose within the Iron suit as well. The birth of Iron man to me was kind of like the rebirth of how Tony saw war. It basically showed him that what he was doing was wrong. That selling WMD's wasn't the best way in solving conflicts between countries. Unfortunately he had to be imprisoned, forced to make a bomb and almost near death to see this but this was sort of his "At first I was blind but now I see" moment.But this again an opinion of mine.....what's yours?

Well actually to me, Iron Man is to Marvel, what Batman is to DCcomics. Their are both rich, have no superpowers, and their parents are death. Now i dont't live in the US and im only 13 so i dont know too much about this too characters so thats only my opinion, i could be wrong, hehe.
PS: really nice drawing dude, i love the expression on Tony's face and the lightnings in Ironman. Keep on the nice work man

They are very much like that. However Tony's parents presumably died naturally while the murder of Bruce's parents is the main motivator of his war against crime (Tony just picked up his father's business). Iron Man relies more on technology (IE blasting things with lasers/making Suits that can fight toe to toe with the Hulk) while Batman relies more on pure skill, intellect and gadgetry (Scaring the crap out of thugs, martial arts prowess and his equipment mostly consist of fairly small tools).
That, plus the fact that Iron Man's main enemies consisted of Communist stereotypes (at least started off as Commies during the Cold War) while Batman usually fights some of the most insane criminals of his universe, especially The Joker, who is considered a threat by both heroes and villains alike.

I absolutely love your series. I couldnt have done better in capturing the true Tony Stark. My only question is why stop your series. I was really looking forward to seeing how you would illustrate some of my personal favorites like Steel, the Flash Blade, Magneto and The Green Lanterns.

This is a very good peice that show's alot of understanding about the character. I never really thought that Tony could keep it in his pants...er...his secret identity hidden for long. His huburis would just not allow that. That's why I like the Ultimate Iron Man. That, and the fact the Ultimate Suit is so d@mn cool!

I agree with this completely. Tony went from selling weapons to becoming a weapon, one to use for good.

I'm not a huge Tony Stark/Iron Man fan, but your description of him makes him a lot more interesting. He makes a much more compelling character with the theme of atonement guiding the character. And this is an excellent work of art; both the Tony and the Iron Man pics are sharp and dynamic.
