More The Crooked Man fanart because this game gave me so many feels. ;_; I accidentally made his hair green - I know it's supposed to be black, but I just thought of Duke's "dark side" - the crooked man, when I drew this, and the crooked man had dark green hair. I cried so hard in the second playthrough ending when David met Duke and talked to him, but he couldn't save him because he was already too late. Duke was already dead. And David said, "I wish I've met you sooner." And David was saved, and Duke wasn't - but if Duke hadn't been there, David would've killed himself, too. Even after his death, Duke wanted to give a chance to the man who was just like him, to stop him from going the same path by showing him his own three separate life stories in the form of Sissi, D and Fluffy, and their struggles with his own crooked despair (the crooked man). Beautiful story.

Alright, let me just say that this is amazing. I absolutely love it.
First, the color on the hair is perfect, though I feel like it should have more light on the top left side, still, it's wonderful and that shine across it makes me smile.
I feel like the right side of his jacket should have more shading/coloring. Other than that, you got the rest perfect. The neck seems like its missing something and its a tad bit pale, alas it's still wonderful. I see nothing else wrong with it.
I like how it seems like the tears are almost glowing, only slightly, but it really brings our eyes to it. Again, that shine on the hair... It really adds some spark to this and I know that I, as well as many others, loved what you did with it. I also like the shading around the covered eyes, the hair shading really matches the area around it.
The smile(?) makes me wonder, is he really smiling, glad about dying, or is it a frown drawn from fear and or depression/sadness. It's some what hard to tell.
I like the rope. I feel like the upper right portion of the loop should be wider, but then again, it possibly being the end of the rope gives it a reason to be thin.
The light is just beautiful, nothing wrong with it.
Over all, there were only slight issues, barely noticeable and not really that important. I think you did an amazing job on this, the colors are eye catching and pretty, the expression really gets you to start thinking, and it's very pleasing to the eyes. Even though the picture is rather depressing, it some-what soothes my mind. Also, the wall is a rather comforting color. This picture is beautiful and amazing and you did a wonderful job. Thank you for making this!

I luved the Crooked man game and I luv all the art of it but this really sticks to me and it' reminds me of the one thing they were truely missing at the end of the game, I thought that when David walked away from Duke's grave that we should've seen a little snap drawing of his ghost smoking a cigarette as David walks away

Okay, I found this picture on pixiv and I have been searching relentlessly to see if I could find the creator...
What I want to say is, the concept for the story blew my mind. Especially the psychological part of it, finding someone like you. Do you like them or find them irritating? Do you want to help them, or drag them down with you? The choices that were given branching out were very well done.
Like, for scene 1 I just could not pick the correct responses in that part of the game. And I got the bad ending, for scene 2 I got it right, but it unsettles me that my gut choices, what I'D say, are wrong... and the choice I wouldn't make turns out to be better from a logical or emotional standpoint.
Is itο»Ώ possible for a game to make you re-think how you see and move through life? I feel like my beliefs and morals are being flipped upside-down and inside-out.
Especially with the non-standard gameovers: "don't cry, dreams do come true, don't do it - this is not what you want." Oh well, this is hauntingly beautiful, with the melancholy atmosphere. :3

Indeed. Somehow, in the end, it appears that Duke is more of a main character than David is (David's the narrator, Duke's the character the story revolves around), even though he only appears at the end. It was really touching (though I wish that the game showed Duke in the first playthrough, instead of just the second one).

Duke... After this I want try drawing him and David too ;__; This game was really emotional and I just love the message behind it... It made me realized that no matter how crooked we are, it's the way we accept it that would brings meaning to our life...

Just like Duke and David. If Duke and David had met before Duke killed himself, things would've been better for the both of them. And if Duke's spirit hadn't tried contacting David after his death... David would've killed himself just like Duke had.

Your comment here explains the very reason why I love and watch anime, it can SAVE lives! I wish everybody could watch it and see the world in millions of different perspectives, which is also what it teaches us. I wish my parents could open thier eyes to it and see how much even more beautiful the world is but still teach that everybody suffers in the same pain. They kept forcing to believe in Jesus Christ, which to me didn't work out because I felt nothing from it going to church, but with games and anime its really the same thing, just in a form of art. Because of anime, it has taught me to see the world in so many colors and perspectives. Ps, I cried at Dukes death I wanted to hug him ;-;

I think Duke had both sides. His sane one (the part that wanted to save David) and the disturbed condemned one (the Crooked Man). The whole game, while we controlled David to find about his whole life (that was almost the same as Duke), Duke was stuck between the wish to help David (when David has to go to a new place and when those people that appear to help David) in the journey, and the deep sorrow, where he wants to bring David with him. The crooked man is something that David and Duke had to fight deep inside in their minds. The crooked man is the personification of their frustrations and lonely. It was too late for Duke to defeat his sorrow (personified ad the crooked man), but he wanted at least the chance to save David. i think that was beautiful. (I prefer the seco d ending A LOT.)
