"Ib, do you know what a milk puzzle is?"He was strange. He laughed, all the time. He was an odd man.
I got the strangest urge to make a milk puzzle today. There's just something so endearing about that name. And then I realized that even though I did like Ib quite a lot, I haven't drawn fanart for it yet. I decided to remedy the situation quickly.
Though my favourite character is still Mary. Once I have more time, I'll draw her too.

Yep, I did. I wasn't satisfied! I need an ending where you can save both Garry and Mary ): Actually tbh I didn't care much about Ib herself because aside from her being an slightly-stronger-than-average kid, she is never shown talking so no viewer gets to know her as a person. So I kind of wanted an ending where she sacrifices herself for both Garry and Mary orz. Also why did they have to kill Mary askdjksjfd they didn't have to. They could've just run away.

Its true, however, Ib fits as a quiet character. I don't think a kid her age or a kid with such a character would sacrifice herself. The maker of this game probably made it like this to either show reality more(survival of the fittest), make the game memorable, make the game more cruel, make the game more dramatic and etc. The game maker could of wanted to do it for many reasons. Another reason might even be due to laziness. Having only two characters being able to be released creates plot and finding a loophole would just ruin the game for some. Why you ask? This is because its cliche. For me, Ib is a memorable game that I will never forget. To me, the game maker is a genius.

Ohh, I see the reason for that. For a more natural ending, I don't think a happy ending with Mary was possible.

I'm not saying that. There IS a happy ending with Mary, which is Together Forever. I'm saying that I think the game would've been better if it had focused more on plot than just horror elements, and had been more realistic with the impacts of traumatic memories on a young child. To me, Memory's Crannies was a better ending than Promise of Reunion because Ib was rid of all those horrifying memories and can continue her life as usual. Promise of Reunion forces her to remember again. Yet, the game tries to make that seem like the "right" and "better" ending.

I didn't say you said that, I said that a actual happy ending with Mary isn't possible. True enough, but I doubt they remembered all of it. The Promise of Reunion would be a better ending for the one's who liked Gary. Ib didn't have enough character development or even any development at all. The focus wasn't on Ib at all(even if she's the main character), but mostly the two characters, Gary and Mary.

Yeah, I agree with that. It's not a bad choice - if the creators had shown Ib talking, it would have removed most of the "horror" aspect of it, purely because Ib is meant to be an audience surrogate to make the horror actually scarier. Sure, it made Ib a character that isn't deep at all, but like what you said, the focus isn't on her, but Garry and Mary.

Plus, the best writer isn't the one who makes what the viewer believe the story is great, but its how natural it is in my opinion.
