= Apparently you have to click DOWNLOAD to see the Full Version =- Well I have been kinda busy and not really submitting anything lately because of school, so I thought I would go ahead and throw up one of my things from class. This happens to be a practice pen and ink piece for my Illustration class. I was relatively happy with the way that it came out, but I still am really uncomfortable working with tones done in pen. And there are things that I would try and fix if I were to do it again.
- - This was my second time using pen for a tonal drawing, and it was MUCH better than the first one that I did. So I am hoping that by the time we do the "real" assignment that this practice was for I will improve once again ^~^

what type of pen to do you use? the lines are amazingly thin.

It was awhile ago so I am not certain but I probably used a .005 Micron Pen.

Thanks, but I actually have tons of work to do on pen and things. This was the only thing I liked that was done in pen and ink, most of it turns out pretty bad : (

Even if you aren't totally happy with it, it came out pretty nice in my opinion.
And there is that "thing" again in the background. It seems to pop up in a lot of stuff you do for school o_O'

Oh, that's how you do fullview now! I had yet to figure that out.
Anyway, this is a really neat drawing! You do realistic work just as well as you do anime style. The texture of the boot was rendered wonderfully, I especially like the wrinkles in the tongue. You have such mad skillz.

Yeah I know . . . it actually really bothers me that you have to use that to fullview on a lot of deviations. I am not sure why they changed it, but I hope it's something that they will change back to the way it used to be.

That's awesome...way better than my realistic sketches, that's for sure. I'm not very talented with realistic stuff, but I notice that it does help me get proportions right with my own style. I think you did pretty well with the detail and shading. ^^

- And yeah, all anime/cartoon artists can draw realism amazingly well. One of my teachers once said that you need to be able to draw reality before you can convicingly skew reality . . . or something like that
