= Full View =- Well, this is one of the MANY self portraits that I have had to do in my life . . . but I still think that it turned out rather well. Even though traditional pieces never look as nice in photographs as they do in person.
- - The assignment was a "straight-forward" self portrait. From about shoulders up, using a mirror to give it a more intimate/personal feel to it as apposed to a strange pose or facial expression that is more "staged".
Done in graphite = 22x30

Great lighting and details -- fine straight hair is hard! I am impressed.
Wonderful use of contrast and shading, especially to highlight the eyes, and the texture on your shirt is fantastic.
I always find doing self portraits such a pain, but this one is really excellent.
Did anyone ever tell you you look rather like the characters you draw? Or maybe that's just your style coming through in this piece. Either way, very cool effect. You've managed to capture yourself very well.
What softness pencils did you use? Always curious

- I have never been a fan of doing self portraits either, but i hadn't done one in a few years, so it wasn't so bad . . .
- - And oh man, my family tells me that all the time!! . . . They always say that I look like the characters I draw
I know that I used a 6B graphite stick on the darkest areas. Other then that I just used 3B-6B pencils

haha. I've found that most people are influenced in their style either by themself or someone close to them (a lot of my people end up looking like my sister . . .)

... O_O.. wow.. this is awesome, you did pretty well with the self-portrait. Nice works on the shadings and lightings, everything is smooth and clean as well 
Honestly, my favorite part in this art is the eyes.. i dont know.... there's just something to it, hard to explain.. its like.. there's so many things i can see through it

i really don't!!! that's why i like to take photos, it's quick and in a second u can capture the beauty of a situation so easily @w@
but when I get a good idea in my head I draw it and don't stop lol, that's why my art teachers always hated me XD
