Phew, this one was a bigg'un.

It's been a while since I've really sketched something I can be pretty proud of, but actually making a half decent background on this really made this piece worth it.

A while ago =TheGoldenReshiram commissioned me right around when *v-16 was having her commission auctions. We both had bid on the auction, though in my case I was simply helping by keeping pricing competitive, and before you ask "No, I did it of my own free will, and I assume *v-16 herself, thought I wanted it just as much as everyone else," either way, I didn't have enough points to pay the higher bids, but it was plenty of fun hiking the price high for V. ^^ Anyway, I saw GR bidding for a bit before she peaked over at my page, and I'm grasping at straws here, but I guess she though my commissions were far more affordable. Understandable, as by the time we were bidding, they were already higher than mine.

TL;DR: =TheGoldenReshiram saw me bidding on *v-16 's auction journal, and she decided to commission me. XD

Anyway! Enough with the backstory!

I wasn't given much info to go on with this commission, I normally like people to be clear with exactly what they want, but this was both a blessing and a curse as it left me to be creative, but also with no clear direction at first. I sort of started simply with the idea of having Flame the Cat in the foreground pointing her gun at the viewer, and it slowly took shape from there. Little did I know how much detail I wanted to put into it all, but I think that really drove me after awhile, I just wanted to see how much I could fit on one page.

Regardless, I had plenty of fun drawing this.

I was working from this original reference sheet: [link] But as you can see I worked with the design a bit and changed a few things, so I hope it's not to the original artist's dislike. I think the most notable change is the character's guns. I actually based them off of a Kahr CW 40 Semi-Automatic Handgun. It was the closest thing I could find that resembled the guns the original artist drew, so I used the design. Other than that, I went for the alternate look of the character that has no gloves, and wears a hoodie. I think she looks pretty awesome.

I used one point perspective to draw the background which was a huge pain, but it really paid off because it looks just magnificent if I do say so myself. Not much else to say though, other than that this will take a while to color, I'll probably start on it tomorrow if I'm not terrible busy.
