Description the G16 mk3 is basically an M16A4 rifle with dramatic CP modifications.
the standard handguard and stock have been replaced with a prototype system that opens and acts both as an electronics concealer and a recoil reducer. the light/laser sight is concealed in the lower half of the handguard. The stock is designed to rapidly collapse when firing. the barrel and firing mechanism is designed to slide back and forth on a rail, like the G11, so that most of the recoil is gone by the time it reaches the user. The sighting system is separate from the receiver, set on a rail connected to the lower part of the receiver so that it stays in the same place relative to the stock and grip, enabling the user to continuously fire. I mean, if you had a moving scope, you'd not only have to be careful not to get hit in the face...but you'd also have to get back into position to see through the scope. was hard to fix that issue, until I said, "hey, what if the scope was attatched to another part of the gun that didn't move?" now that I look back at it, it was a really simple solution... -__-

so yeah. it is a two round burst rifle with almost no recoil experienced by the user. it carries 5.56mm APE-C rounds and it is electronically fired so that the recoil absorbing rail system can work effectively. Also, it has a hybrid sight. one part is an acog with a built in target finder, while on top of that sits a red dot sight with a built in enviro-scanner. it's technically still in prototype stage, so it's prone to overheating and malfunctioning in the recoil reduction system if used under extreme conditions. Actually, to be honest, CP pretty much only uses it in tac-VTOL patrols (basically when officers hang out by the doors in a VTOL transport patrol ship and either snipe or spot targets for pursuit teams and snatch and grab teams), where it is almost guaranteed not to get damaged by foreign materials. it's also a B**** to clean and maintain due to the complicated parts, so CP is designing a maintenance system to automatically maintain the rifles quickly and effectively after each mission.

EDIT=================
=====================

DAMMIT!!! I forgot to make the Barrel silver. Since 2016 All CP firearms had firing mechanisms and barrels made of a mixture of Platinum and lightweight, durable material (not found on earth). that blend gives them that silver look.

Anyway, enjoy!

well, that's what they used as a base for the design.
