Description Today i went over to my friend's house and we made parfaits for dessert! I would have posted a pic without all the stuff in the bg, but due to lighting and etc... this picture turned out to be the best. coincidentally this is the very first picture i took! I had made a parfait before but the icecream wasn't fully solid and melted immediatly. it started to do the same again but it was only the Black raspberry icecream that was really melting. I think i will try to use gelato instead of ice creams next time. I made the parfaits after watching s bonobo's version. but instead of using sponge cake i used waffles! and instead of using decorated chocolates i had to improvise. little hard to find a Hello Kitty chocolate mold here in the US. found a hello kitty cake pan though! might buy that and make a hello kitty cake according to 'nerdy nummies' on youtube. i've been watching ALOT of youtube so i'm getting loads of ideas and things to try out. but anyway, here it is! two parfaits! starting from the bottom there is toasted waffles, followed by homemade whip cream, strawberries, cream, frosted flakes, more cream, raspberries (and black berries for the other) and topped with icecream, waffle cone, fruit, deco pokey, wafer cookie, chocolate drizzle, and more cream! my friend personalized hers with gummy bears and a piece of dove chocolate. it was very delicious! i have to say the raspberries and the cereal were my favorite parts. Back when i lived in Japan, me and my friends would goto this one place to get parfaits and we would share! it was alot of fun~! this week's cooking adventure!

Things i would do different: I would get an actual parfait cup that was fluted! these i believe are ice tea cups? i found them in the easter section of the grocery store and they were super cheap. although they are cute they aren't very good for holding up icecream at the top and it started to drip over the sides. I would also probably use gelato or something that doesn't melt so quickly. that raspberry icecream just melted so much faster then the rest of the icecream that it was ridiculous. I would also try to find that hello kitty candy mold!!! i wanted to decorate my cookies and pokey cute but i couldn't find that mold or any cute kawaii mold close to it. oh well.

Oh, you don't buy them. You have to make them! I simply melted some chocolate in a small plastic baggy to drizzle over the pocky and to use it as a 'glue' for the decorations. I used star and bear shaped sprinkles and pearl cupcake sprinkles. that's basically it, very easy! you can go to Michael's and get whatever cute sprinkles you like. Same for the chocolate but stay away from anything that has like... nuts or cookies in it. I used cookies and cream chocolate to melt for the white squiggles and it was very difficult to work with. cookies kept blocking the passage and the chocolate kept cooling too quickly.
