Description
Future hot rods getting a little go juice!Had a neat little thunderstorm roll through at 3 A.M. Friday night so I detoured from my route to work and took a few shots up at The Hot Rod Institute. I only got three frames before the rain ended the session. I had left my tripod in the truck so I improvised by using the quick release plate as a brace for the lens and set the camera on the roof of my van, Timmy. I didn't like the angle or perspective and thought a super low angle would be cool, so I grabbed a few CD cases and set the camera on the ground with the CD cases under the lens so it had an upward angle. I managed to lose the quick release plate for my tripod after fleeing the rain and heading to work. I remember hearing this rattling noise going down the roof of Timmy when I entered the Interstate from an on ramp. and wondering what the heck that was. Two days later I walked a half mile in both directions of Interstate 90 looking for it. I didn't find the quick release plate but I did find a quarter

I believe they are going to make a hot rod custom out of this sweetie, Walt.Β I've been trying to do a deal with them to allow me to photograph some of their finished creations by plying them with prints of the lightning I capture over the old cars--no dice so far, but they LOVE the prints!

I can't believe that it's 2013 and I still can't afford a '53 Buick. Β Tell them good luck on the hot rod part of this, I think they modeled battleships after these babies. Β If you started in the morning, you'd need about 500 horse power to be doing 60 by evening.

Is that a 54 Buick Special? It'll take more than a lightening strike to get it going again lol

I'm not sure what year/make it is.Β I'm sure the people at The Hot Rod Institute can breathe some life into it though
