Description
*Full View Please*I have a love/hate relationship with this particular shot. it didn't work in color...it didn't work in black and white, but I think it works very well in sepia. I loved the way the trees are all bent over in contrast to the flowing water. it's a little like a visual vortex.
I don't normally do a lot of sepia, but that might change
title comes from a line in a Pearl Jam song--Better Man [link]

PEARL JAM!!! I love Jeremy *goes to find it on youtube then listens to it while leaving comment*
I must say that for a very long time I could not stand those bent over trees.. we saw them everywhere growing bent and twisted, the signs of our latest hurricanes.. They are slowly growing straight again, but they will always have the bend in them. Now I see them and I think how lucky so many of us were and I actually appreciate mother natures "art"..
It's a lovely capture my friend and I love that it was in sepia!

Yes--hurricane trees are depressing a bit. Up here we call 'em tornado trees usually stripped bare of limbs and leaves just the trunks remain, but they usually die and never regrow. I think these trees were bent over due to heavy snowfall last winter and I know the straightened back up for the most part
Thank you Andrea

It is taking longer this time for some of the trees to even grow back, we didn't just get wind with Ike like we did with Rita, we also got major flooding. At least the areas outside of my town did.. we have a levee and it is the only thing that saved our town from flooding like all the other ones around us. I guess the salt water really killed most plant life, Mother Nature is working overtime trying to get itself back in order. Anyways, Its a lovely shot and you rule because you said PJ rulz!

I love this shot! It's almost as if the trees are reaching out trying to get a drink of water.. The sepia works, thats for sure.
The title.. taken from a pretty good song!
