16.05.2020: Made a slight edit to the head because I wasn't happy with how I made it the first time. It looks sooo much better now.

Well it's definitely about time I updated my character references. Most are from 2017! Two years is too long to go without updating references. My art style has changed so much since then.

Khono is the me of the internet (as opposed to the me of real life), the face I hide behind, and yet it's the face I'm actually becoming. My persona and me at the same time, all the time. Can't say I'm not happy about that though. I always have liked this side of me more. It's just me, myself and I: Khono.

Nickname: Kho, Wolfie (only used by Quill)

Eye/Voicelight colour: Purple
Fur/Feather colour: Very dark greys
Accessories/Marks: Three lobe piercings and an industrial piercing in each ear, all silver. The piercings aren't optional, but the metal colour and style can change.

Appearance:
Khono has very dark fur to match the feather colour of their bird type; the crow. They have mostly short fur, though there is longer fur around their chest, elbows, hindquarters, tail, cheeks and head. The fur on her head is so long that it gives them a 'fringe' of sorts that covers Khono's right eye, though there is nothing unusual about that right eye. When their fringe is pinned back, you'll see that their eyes are a perfectly identical hue of purple.

They're a fairly tall canine, though they doesn't like it at all if someone else is taller and decides to draw attention to that. Khono's face is quite elegant, and their streamlined body is perfect for flight. Their teeth are average sized, and thier resting facial expression is calm and serious (though it's been mistaken to look 'sad' a few times). Khono walks with their head facing the ground, yet they carry so much wisdom in their eyes. It's unclear whether it's just because they have an old soul, or because of the depression.

Personality:
Khono isn't judgemental, and so many trust them. They are the voice of rationality and reason. Khono takes pride in using the correct grammar when speaking, and will be either annoyed or amused if someone else's grammar is incorrect. They are well-mannered and well-respected; often all talk would stop as soon as they open their mouth and their word is taken seriously. Khono is the source of great advice, no matter what troubles you. They're an intelligent (though they doesn't believe it at times), curious wolf, and their current subject of interest is the history, languages and religion of Birdwolves, Plague creatures and L.U.C.Ys (as well as C.A.Ms). They are also interested in divination, witchcraft, calligraphy, steampunk, mechanics, punk and goth styles/aesthetics, shiny things and bookbinding. Khono often has obscure interests, and knows a great deal of trivia across a wide variety of subjects.

However, where they fall short is the emotional side of things. Khono struggles to understand the emotions of others, which often makes them seem cold-hearted (though that's not the case at all). In fact, they struggle with their own emotions, or lack thereof. For some reason, their emotions seem to be 'dulled/muted', and only seems to experience strong emotion in rare circumstances (if they can even recognise them at all). They don't understand it, and it frustrates them. They also don't seem to cry; almost never if they're in pain, and they doubt they would have intense enough feelings to cry out of sadness or some other emotion. They also tend to procrastinate a lot.

Lately they have been suffering from depression and anxiety. Their depression takes the form of a kind of 'apathy', where they both struggle to feel and identify emotion. For example, they could be smiling, but this is only a facial movement and they don't feel the associated happiness. Khono understands that their physical symptoms can suggest an emotion, but they struggle to feel it themselves and are very curious on what it's like to 'feel' emotions. They want to know how others know that they're feeling an emotion.

They really dislike physical contact, and prefer to have their own personal space (but seem to only enjoy physical contact from those they trust the most and enjoy the company of). They especially hate it when others touch their hair without permission. Khono is an introvert, and much more prefers to be alone than to be in a group. And while they're at it, there's an entire library they own so it's not like they can get bored.

On the Myers Briggs personality test, Khono is an INTP-A (the Logician Personality). If you want to know more about what I'm like, you can read about that.

-Khono is a nihilist and an anarchist.
-Khono likes spotting grammar mistakes, and calling others out for it.
-Khono hates it when others use slang (which is unfortunate for Skipkick).
-They're fascinated by different accents and languages.
-They get a little teary-eyed when they yawn.
-Khono hates the taste of mint.
-They are a (reluctant) Flock Leader for a fairly small Corvid Flock. At some point, they are planning to step down and go off and live as a hermit somewhere.
-They can talk to/understand crows by their body language, and can communicate with them in this way.
-Khono often uses their crows to gather information, send and/or receive letters and be their eyes in places where they aren't.
-They don't like loud noises, but do like the sound of stringed instruments and wind chimes.
-In fact, they are quite sensitive to sound in general, which sometimes leads them to be overstimulated.
-They were stolen from their parents as an egg by dogs and sent to a lab for research into Birdwolves.
-In the lab, they met Quill, Finn and another canine who later became one of Luka's Plague Beasts, and they all steadily grew up together in the lab.
-Their number in the lab was no.4562.
-A L.U.C.Y cyborg who worked at the lab developed a soft spot for the group of pups, and became their 'big brother'.
-Khono and Quill eventually escaped from the lab, and went their separate ways.
-Khono was then found by a Magpie-type Birdwolf female, who looked after them as their 'adoptive Mother', as she couldn't have cubs herself. The two weren't that close, and Khono couldn't bring themself to feel much when she died.
-Khono really likes the taste of tea and coffee, and prefers black tea.
-They have never shown an interest in romantic or sexual relationships, and have no intention of having cubs.
-They're openly asexual and are demiromantic as well.
-Khono secretly desires a queerplatonic relationship, and doesn't mind the thought of having multiple queerplatonic partners.
-Khono is in fact uncomfortable around cubs, and doesn't like looking after them.
