Looks more like the SDF-2 Overlord than the SDF-1 Macross.
I must confess that my knowledge is limited to the Robotech series and role playing game made by Palladium Books.
I know there is a similar series called Macross but I have not seen it.

That is a fantastic model. And in SketchUp no less. Kudos. AnimeNanashi thinks so too, huh, and he has a pretty sweet Macross as well.

Did you replace the naval carriers connected to the shoulders with ARMD class carriers?

The Movie could be "Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Do You Remember Love?"

There is a good chance... that that... is... the COOLEST... thing I've ever seen. AMAZING work man, especially working in sketchup instead of a traditional modeling program. That just looks fantastic.

That's a remarkable amount of detail. How do you keep Sketchup from bogging down and becoming unusable?

I try always to use as many components as I can,e.g. a cylinder is made from 1 components (a quarter of cylinder) copied 3 times (instances).
and.... 4Gb ram and a good video card.

Hm. I do much the same. Maybe I need to break down into smaller assemblies. Nice work!
