Thanks man! Well, it can be interpretted many ways It could be an explosion or an implosion, an impact or a solar flare, it depends how you look at it

cool. kinda looks like you pushed the explosion plume over to the side to fit in the picture though. that bothered me a bit.

There is something terribly wrong with this image... The lines of the explosions don't follow the lines of the planet... The explosion isn't on top of the planet, but the smoke and fire goes to the top of the image. It's a bit hard to explain, if you don't get me just ask it again. Besides that thing this image looks very cool. Very nice brushwork

hmm well if you look to an explosion/impact, the smoke and fire goes in a straight line up right? Now if you would make an explosion/impact on the top of a planet it goes vertical up. If you want to add this explosion to another side of the planet (wich you did) it doesn't go straight up anymore, but it follows the lines of the planet.
If you still dont get it, open the jpg in photoshop and turn it a bit to the left untill the explosion/impact is on the top. You will see that the smoke and fire goes diagonal and not vertical now. I hope you will fix this mate.

I get what you mean mate
I am not sure though, any number of variables could cause the explosion/implosion to sway like this. Maybe a strong force (solar storms?) Or hidden gravitation fields are pulling at it?
The thing is the idea that it must follow a planets lines may be outruled by other variables in the picture, however i understand these are less of an instant realisation in the picture, however the nebulae to the left that looks as if to flow to the left may spark the idea of a gravitational pull.
Thanks for suggestion mate

I think I get it - He means that you seem to have made the "explosion" look like it was coming out from the sun, and in that case it's going off at a strange tangent - unless there are some cosmic winds! - yeah and the explosion itself travells too far up maybe. On the other side, if it was an "impact" you were getting at - i.e. something burning crashing INTO the sun then it works out - but the shockwave wouldn't be symmetrical like that - it would bend off to one side
. The comment does make sense - (to me anyway lol).

because I’ve seen alyn's work
I’m not saying that make it as realistic as he does
but I think you can do better.

a nice piece..i love the detail/textures of the planet and explosion...
it could use a few more stars, and some stars are popped into that explosion, looks a little odd...
but mucho better than i could ever make!

nice shot there but the only thing i noticed which i think its a slight error and its seen when its zoomed that way is that the shadows are where the light is supposed to be, is the other way around, but that's just a detail nice job!

Beautiful!! I think this is a much better composition b/c of the way you cropped it out. There's no such much space and the eye is lead around the page wonderfully. Great work! And thanks for the desktop.
