The Ninth Doctor Christopher Eccleston 2005The Doctor that broke the mould. With the new series brought a new side to the Doctor we had never seen before. Broken but healing Eccleston made the Doctor direct and to the point, no gimmicks, no questions marks, no excess of hair or extravagant costumes, simple and down to earth. But under this new gruffer exterior lies the same wit and wonder, the same love of adventure and excitement of finding a new world, not seeing an alien with fear and hatred but curiosity and a smile. So different but unmistakably the old fantastic Doctor we all know and love.

There can never be enough nine appreciation in this world.
I love how he archeived the same effect by wearing this in the most unfitting places and being just as defensive about it. Like, the Doctor is liable to wind up with a normal outfit just by random chance, and not notice the difference, because he's THAT weird~

My second favorite Doctor. He renewed the Doctor to the old fans as well as creating a whole new generation of new fans...my kids, 8, 11, and 14 are all die hard Doctor WHO fans because of this man.

My favorite Doctor. It's a shame that there aren't a whole people who like him, there should be. Most people like Ten or Eleven. I chose to stick to the quote, "You never forget your first Doctor." Nine was my first, so that's why.

10 was my first, so he holds a very special place in my heart. It's funny, really, I had only seen one episode of 10 with my older brother, and then the next night they were playing something with 9 on tv, and I asked him what the hell was going on, because the TARDIS was there, but there was this slick guy with buzzed hair and a leather jacket flying it, and I got so angry... and then I found out about regeneration and it prompted me to look into the rest of the show. In the end I preffered the classic series to the new series, and 5 became my absolute favourite (along with 2. if only he had more surviving episodes...). And that's pretty much how it happened.
Don't be sad though. I know a lot of people who love the 9th Doctor, more than I know people who love the 10th and 11th. There's a huge underground fandom of people who feel the exact same way you do. After all, he kind of brought the show back, and that was a huge deal. And although he isn't exactly one of my favourites, I have to appreciate how well he kicked things back into gear. (because dude, he totally comand and conquered the new beginning. he was great. i wish they'd kept him around longer).
