There's an absolutely horrifying incarnation illustrated for a damn RPG in the 80s, and the Expanded Media later brought him back as a disfigured half-regenerated being.

I get why people would want to and I might even flip flop on the idea but I think its a very specific dynamic The Doctor and The Master have and I don't think War Chief and 2 have it because he wasn't supposed to be the Master because they hadn't made him up yet. I'm fine with him being his own Timelord but if it ever got officially said that he's a pre-Delgardo Master I wouldn't be mad. It would suit and I can see how he'd fit. He basically is prototype Master.

In my Head Canon, I always saw the War Chief as the Master Pre-Delgado. He has the same MO as the Master, that look he and the Doctor give each other, facial hair and in The War Games itβs clear his name was given to him as a rank by the War Lords, not by his own choosing. Because of that, we donβt really know what heβs actually called, so for me personally, Heβs The Master.Β

I think originally or a least according to an old board game The Monk and The War Chief are supposed to be younger incarnations of The Master. For me I like that hes his own Timelord but I'm not against the idea of him being The Master.
