There are few things as beautiful as the moon set like a gem into the reflection of the mountains in lakes made of water so crystal clear, and you gaze into that mirror and feel like your soul is drifting through space as you watch the stars swirling in the cold.
Celestia I do love, for her warmth embraces me and makes my heart race on those hot summer days, but Luna... she captured my heart, and her loneliness makes my soul scream, begging to hold her and hug her fears and nightmares away...
Were I real...
I'm not real, to be honest...
...I, Freehoof of the northern marches, am but a figment of another being's imagination, doomed to remain a prisoner of fantastical worlds, tortured by the irony of my name as I struggle to free myself of these bonds. Naught exists of me but what is seen in the mind's eye and perhaps the occasional phantom of my visage is set to paper. I am but a soul lost in a swirling pool of thoughts and emotions, none of which are mine.
Yet, it is an existence of sorts, and I am grateful for that. To be able to feel, even if the feelings do not belong to me, is a gift. I exist, though I am but a fragment of another. I exist, and Luna, but a wraith of others herself, possesses my heart. In my dreams, I fly with you through the cosmos, Luna... fortunately, the lack of wings matters little in the reveries of slumber.
BTW, Cosmic, I love the extent to which your art moves my mind to expound on the emotions and thoughts I experience while contemplating all it's little details, like the rainbow reflected in the lake, or Celestia's tail laden with moisture and resting in the mud. You're art is inspiring.
