she was in no way obligated to return his feelings and when you are rejected you remember things far worse than they often times where. it was hardly her fault in the end it was ultimately HIS choice and no one could make it but him. he chose this path and became the monster she had been taught he was instead of trying to prove to her he wasn't. he chose that path the fault for which lies solely with him.

Why? She didn't do anything wrong. Yes, she may have been insensitive about the rejection, but like the OP said- it's not her fault he turned to chaos. The rejection didn't cause it, he was always destined for it, and you can take rejection how you please. She simply took him down because he was a threat, he had killed everyone but them, and he was a threat to the restored order once life returned.

Luna was the last thing that Discord used magic on. That's my headcanon.

Discord had revenge and took it on Celestia's sister, Luna. Corruption filled her brain and turned her into Nightmare Moon the next day.

I see your point but disagree with it. In this cannon you can see that both Tia and Luna are teenagers. Children. And it takes a hard look back to see no matter how cruel adults are...children are crueler... because they don't know any Better. Celestia wouldn't know anything of discord but what those she loved...she cherished and trusted told her about him about his kind. The real monsters here where the Alicorn society Back then we can see from hearts warming eve there was such a thing as Racial discrimination it was common place the races of ponies hated each other and it was their hate for each other that brought unto them the cold ones after discord's imprisonment. In the absence of the constant fear he kept them in there was no time to hate eachother. with him gone the cold ones came and they destroyed. Luna isn't innocent here either she would have heard the same things about him that Celestia had learned from her parents. she would have hated him just like her sister because they didn't know any better and after he destroyed their families their race because they had been foolish enough to hate.

I see your point here as well, and I believe what I said might have been taken the wrong way, you see, while I hold a low opinion of Celestia, I don't entirely hate her, I understand that with her family dead by discord's race and the influences of the current time, that her judgment was impeded by emotions and influenced by war. I'm not saying it was all o her, and that Luna was completely innocent, only that a good bit of it WAS her fault and that in her young age she was to stupid to account for it, and even now in her older age she still seems to hold DIscord accountable.

Not really you see i think she created a society where there was no more hate after that society not olny took her family from her including her sister but turned the both into monsters. it's not her fault not really she didn't love him that's not her fault she was afriad of him that's also not her fualt it's like me telling a child that being afraid of the dark is there fault as the adult it's my job to teach them NOT to fear the dark but the things in that can hurt you it's like me tellig you you are stupid for begin afraid of night predators. just like it fell to her parents to teach her not to fear what you don't understand. it isn't her fault he loved her and it isn't her fault she feared him. it's the fault of her society and that's what i'm trying to say we are shaped by our societies and she was shaped by hers. And whose to say Discord is innocent here? Why would she look past her fear of him if she had seen his rather cruel games from affar? what makes you think he didn't do something to make her fear him even though he didn't mean to? He didn't have parents and like i said children are cruel unless we teach them not to be. what if his games because he likes games...what if they where cruel to someone who knows the difference? I took this to be a study in how what we teach our childred shapes how they affect the world. And celestia had to learn a hard lesson one her parents didn't bother to teach her one society forbid. i understand you thoughts it's just they seem off to me becuse these are my thoughts on the matter. I'm not saying she's not to blame...but i'm saying she is and she isn't at the same time. Luna well she's a nother matter entirely she isn't nearly as powerful as her they clue you into that by her name She is luna and luna's light is the sun's light reflected. she has powers of her own but her sister's probally shares them seeing as her sister can raise the sun, moon and stars becuse she is the sun and she is a star. She's not ike luna who isn't a star but the sister to the stars. luna was created for earth and she came after the sun....and the sun can take that light away if she wills it. i think luna knows this deep down but when there where more of them...her's sister's powers didn't seem so special.. i think that it's case of not understanding the praise given and that feeling of inherent inferiority she probally felt she's younger her sister is so powerful she want's to live up to that she felt that she failed...it's like when you lash out at a sibling for being better at you in something you care about more than they do.. Hmm i doubt Celestia cared about the honor the pnies gave her she simply saw it as her duty and was happy to do it...after failing so completely with discord(in her eyes) luna saw it as a chance to be equal to her sister in all that her sister does which is impossible becuse she isn't her sister...she's luna and she didn't understand in her youth that even though her sister could do many things...there where things she couldn't that luna could.. i'm not making sence i'm trying to say that luna tired to hard to be her sister and not herself.

Basically But i can't dislike her for that as she shows later that the picture he saw of her..wasn't who she really was. What happened ot luna is sad though she tired so hard to be her sister that she didn't realize she was loved because she was herself and celestia didn't notice most siblings don't notice things like that until it gets to that point because their siblings don't want them to notice. Celestia didn't care about the praise but Luna did it's sad isn't it?
