I just noticed that in this comic, Discord looks a lot more threatening than he does in the show. He has huge deadly claws, jaws full of extremely sharp teeth, his eyes are beastly rather than goofy, and his wings are huge and imposing rather than tiny and vestigial.
New personal headcanon goes that during the "height" of his reign of atrocities, Discord did use to look like that. But when he got Harmony'd a side effect of the friendship-charged blast diminished some of his more monstrous features. If the Mane Six had not stopped him in time, his new reign would have gone into full swing. Discord's pranks would have started to kill ponies again, and he would have regained his previous appearance.

Instead of the sadness many feels from this story. I feel a certain kind of anger, anger towards those who unrightfully bashed him away, when he tried to be accepted for who he is, and not what he is. Everytime I read this I can't help but feel Celestia is one of the biggest villains.
She made mistakes. Horrible mistakes.

I've read "Discordantly" several times now and new details always seem to emerge with each read-through. I just now noticed Discord's faded 'inner monologue' ("I underestimated them" / I underestimated her"). I suppose that however much the draconequus may attempt to deny it, he still has a lingering obsession with that pink-haired alicorn and chooses to interpret her destruction of his rule as a personal attack.

This whole series... I sat and read it in one sitting... It touched me. Yes, he was inherently evil, and yes, it's not Celestia's fault for not loving him back, but I can't help but wonder if things could have been different. Maybe, with just a small change here or there, Discord could have been a servant of beauty, instead of ugliness...

This comic is probably one of my favorite brony pieces that I've seen. I adore your art style, love the storyline, applaud what you've done with Discord's character, and take my hat off for the idea of the alicorns.
... Actually, I'm lying. I'm not wearing a hat, but I always did have a faint feeling that Celestia and Luna had a people SOMEWHERE.
