Way back when the fandom was in its earliest years, there used to be a big misunderstanding with there being a Homestuck Anime.Β
People who didn't know about HS would use to mistake it as an Anime and it was popular for people to call it an Anime.Β
So in response, the fandom used to draw Anime screenshots of the characters and people would play along that it was a legit thing, which confused others who weren't in on it.
