Description
Ise and I were talking when I managed to take this one...Advanced Critique Encouraged, as I'm not satisfied with it, although: I don't want to hear that the backround is too crowded. I tried without, the picture looses it's charm...

I like this. A very film noir, "Welcome to the Cabaret " feel. Especially your tip of the hat to all artists by way of the easel in the background. I think I would have raised the lighting higher, more toward your model's face. Seems a bit dark and slightly unbalanced toward the top. Also, if you put a light on the floor, parallel and slightly in front of the model, the hat(?), would show up better. And, if you oppose your lighting, you reduce shadow, even though I like the shadow in these pix. Your model has a good pose, with a subtle sexiness. I think you might have had her mouth's expression work a little more with the mouth photo in the background. She is meant to be the sexy-ish model(?), but seems to contradict the mouth photo. And finally(phew), I would have included something in the background to balance the right side. Generally composition moves from upper left to lower right, so some object about knee level on the right would work well.
You should play with this shot. Try putting the photo mouth, flipped 180 (in PS) and placed near her boots. That will create a dynamic on several levels.
So much for my advanced critique. Overall, well done.

Thank you so much for such an in-depth comment!!!! I didn't dare answer this for ages, because I deemed worthy of a real reply.
For the lighting on the floor (so as to see the hat better)... I couldn't redo the photo with the model; the expression would be lost. Any tips on how to do it artificially?
I will definetly add something to the bottom right asap.... I'm not sure the painting behind her could work, as it'd have to lean on something, and I realise I'm not talented enough to pull that stunt off. In any case: I wouldn't know how.
Ok.. My answer is weak compared to yours, but... It'll have to do.
Thanks again for the comment
