You guys remember the scene from Burton's AiW when the Cheshire Cat pissed the Mad Hatter off and then the Hatter got all red-eyed and Scottish-accented on us when he was yelling at him?Fellow deviant ~EmizabethVanSparrow made a comment on my "Burton's Alice in... Underland?" piece telling me what the Mad Hatter said exactly when he was threatening the Cheshire Cat during the tea party introduction. He was screaming in a foreign tongue I found extremely weird and I think I got the gist that he's a bit of a potty mouth
"Bar lom muck egg brimni" is untranslated, but it might have something to do with the Hatter telling Cheshire to do something rather terrible with an... egg.
This is poking fun at that.

My scary clan can speak Gaelic... It's rather hilarious when they shout in fluid Gaelic... if it weren't so weird and... weird O_O
But yes, hilarious moment in film. In fact, that whole scene was... in all thought, random, un-called for but hilarious.

He's screaming in Outlandish, the language of the Outlands which are to the... west I believe of Witzend, which is the country/land whatever that Tarrant, Thackery, Mallymkun, and Chessur live in. The Outlands are where all banished Underworlders live, and all the most vicious and demonic of creatures. Which is why the language is rough and 'barbaric' and not used by a majority of Underlanders. Many canβt even recognize Outlandish, which is why the resistence (led by Tarrant and the White Queen) use Outlandish as a code with other resistence members: βDownal wyth Bluddy Behg Hidβ is Outlandish for βDown with the Bloody Big Headβ.
You probably donβt care, but as I am an uber nerd and this is actual fact according to the βofficialβ sites, I just thought I would share with you since I am a constant lurker around your gallery.

Good digging! Might I ask which site(s) went more into detail about it? It really paints a picture. I had theorized that evenso, there still are people who live their natively, but it'd be best not to get involved. Some might've gome to Underland (mainly through Witzend, obviously, but in general the west end of Underland, including Iplam before it was destroyed {not to mention, cut out of the movie...} being Cauol spoke fluid Outlandish) for safety or something and stayed, thus leaving trickles of Outlandish culture and people throughout. Such as (I assumed) the Hightopp clan altogether (One, even though Tarrant was born in Witzend, I should think the clan would have moved there beforehand) I saw the Outlands basically Underland's Scotland, thus Tarrant's kilt and sword design) and so on, but I did not know Mallymkun was also from Witzend.
Oh boy, I'm rambling again...I just love getting into these conversations though!
