GggggguuuuuuuUHHHHH-- the usual fairytale. Princess gets kidnapped by dragons, princess becomes a bard for the dragons, princess loves dragons, dragons love princess, dragon gets killed, princess goes Targaryen on everyone.
It happens.

I read a lot of dragon-oriented fantasy books when I was in elementary and middle school, but none of them were like this kind of fairy tale. Most of them had dragons as near-extinct species and one of them makes friends with protagonist. The ending is usually very sad. Then there was the Dragon Slayer Academy series which was essentially about how a poor village farmer boy stumbles his way into a school about slaying dragons, and screws up but in the process manages to kill dragons. One of them died of his bad jokes (they have specific weaknesses...)
My favorite description from all the dragon books I've read was when a dragon realized that humans didn't have a second layer of floppy skin. It was just clothes.
I enjoyed the colors and the four-eyed dragon's design, as well as how easily you portray a change of heart.
