This is on Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit using WinStep Xtreme, Rainmeter, the Appows Work VS, Executor, and a custom Firefox theme (WIP).NextStart (WinStep) was used to display running applications in the top center of the screen and the System Tray in the bottom right of the screen. - [link]
Rainmeter was used to display the current playing track in bottom center of the screen and the current time beside the System Tray. - [link]
Executor application launcher is the text box in the middle of the screen - I styled it to fit in with Appows VS. - [link]

I don't use NextStart anymore. But if I remember correctly, I chose an included skin that took the least space. Then set the transparency to max and checked the checkbox not to make the icons transparent. Then aligned the icons. Sorry if I'm not using the correct names for the settings, I don't remember what they were called. But I'm sure you'll figure it out.
