He will do anything for head scratches, including knocking over small children, and has no concept of personal space so make sure you watch your toes around him. He tends to nip at people if they are standing close to him without paying attention to him, but he doesn't mean it to be harmful he has just learned that it draws attention. He loves mares and cannot be left unsupervised around them because he will break down stall doors and go through or over fences to get to them. He is respectful in the halter and will listen to corrections, even with mares present, he's only an ass when he's left alone. Because of this, he stays out most of the time and is rarely stalled or left on cross ties. He hates the feel of a bit and his mouth, so he is not ridden much unless his rider has very quiet hands and soft contact. He will hack out in a bitless bridle, but he may get fast and blow through your corrections if he gets spooked or excited.
