Character Introduction:
"Seemingly followed by a heavy aura that crushed the oxygen out of your body, it doesn’t help their face remains emotionless. It’s almost impossible to guess what they’re thinking and they intimidate anyone that approaches him, but in reality they just has a scary face and is rather nice. They don’t speak without being spoken to but it seems they have a complex world in their own mind they project into a sketch book."
Personality:
Corentin appears emotionless, their face never changing in any situation. Because of that people assume they are apathetic and feel nothing. This is the exact opposite of what Corentin is like. They’re actually very emotional and dramatic, their face just doesn’t allow it. They feel the emotional spectrum just like everyone else, they just can’t express it in voice or expression. Because of that, their words are very frank and literal. They mean what they say, they don’t use sarcasm or hyperbole. Their rather stiff face also caused them to intimidate and repel people from them. Lonely, they want to come out of their shell and make friends easier without scaring everyone around them. Corentin is fairly anxious around other people and over think their actions, doubting if other people like them. They’re actually a really polite and well mannered kid who tries their best to make good decisions. They want to make their parents proud and love their family dearly. They’re more of a homebody, preferring to stay safe and keep to place they know well. Overly sensitive, they only wants to be happy and daydreams of a peaceful uneventful life. Because of their lack of social skills, some of their approaches to trying to be close to others might seem rather odd. But they mean well and might get clingy to people that they consider as their friends. Due to the small amount of people willing to get to know them, they hold onto anyone they can. Because of that, they’re an enabler and excuses many bad behaviors of people close to them. Corentin keeps to themselves and keep their private life private but it seems they enjoy technology as their escape and uses art as a matter of self expression and coping mechanism.
While Corentin wants to believe in a peaceful world, they have a more cynical view of the world due to feeding on the negative emotions of people around them. They know that there is no way to reach a perfect world where everyone is happy but is hopeful that a compromise that can do the most good for the common man is reachable. They’re disillusioned by the wealthy and has a rather negative view of those blessed by life’s lottery. Yet still, despite their borderline pessimistic view, they dearly want hope and desperately wish for the best despite knowing the worst. Corentin is rather cowardice, unable to take control of their own life or to take their own initiative to face their mistakes or feelings. Rather wanting to run away than face danger head on, they often can’t face the darkness growing around them and would rather be ignorant. They’re painfully aware that this is abhorrent, but they can’t deny that they don’t want to deal with problems head on and often distract themselves from difficult situations. If it wasn’t obvious, they don’t have a high opinion of themselves and their self image is often matching what everyone thinks of their frozen face. They feel like they’re too far from changing yet they still wish to, and in this limbo they sit hating who they are. Despite the ruts they fall into, they try their best to find the good in themselves and continue on. They know they can’t indulge into their sadness, because they still have to keep going to make their parents and family proud. Relying on their love as well as the support from their friends, they struggle going forwards but makes an effort to see their life through.
They seem to have a weird sense of humor, having what they call a weekly laugh. It seems as though well thought out humor or puns only elicits a slight monotone chuckle yet when presented a picture of a slightly perturbed snake, they lose their mind and project the only joy anyone would see. No one knows why the most random things make them laugh and they don’t quite know either, thinking that their time spent with technology than people has changed their view of normalcy. Corentin doesn’t sleep very well and is constantly tired because of it, processing information more slowly than if they were to sleep. Yet they refuse to sleep, just like how they refuse to not eat dairy even though they’re lactose intolerant. They refuse to do what’s good for them if it means giving up what they love.
Biography:
Coretin had this problem with their face ever since they were young, unable to show proper emotions. Not to say they didn’t have emotions or didn’t feel any emotions, but they never showed that they did. This repelled people like rain hitting an umbrella and they were a considerably lonely child. Not to say they didn’t have a good home life, in fact that was the one thing that saved Corentin was their loving parents. Both of his parents worked hard and did everything they could to provide Corentin a good home and life, dedicating their lives to them. Giving them a good education, making sure they never went hungry and ensuring that they had a brighter future than either of them did. His father worked an assortment of odd jobs from dawn to dusk while his mother worked as a secretary, and while both couldn’t always be there for their child, Corentin knew they loved them. They loved their parents dearly and appreciated every blessing they gave them, but also decided from a young age to stop wanting for material objects that aren’t necessary. They didn’t want to cause their parent’s unwarranted burden. Their parents never told them their financial situation, keeping them away from money so they wouldn’t worry. But only causing the opposite effect of Corentin constantly worrying over if they had enough money to stay afloat. They did everything they could at home to make sure their family was happy, taking up cooking and doing laundry so that their parents could relax after work. All of this plus their facial stiffness certainly made them stick out, and they were hailed by other parents as a good role model- earning rather harsh looks from their peers. The more their peers isolated or insulted them, the more Corentin was pushed to their home as a safe haven. Thus, they spent most of their time at home.
The anger, envy, and malicious feelings directed towards Corentin only contributed towards their growth- literally. The horn on their head allows them to feed and collect those spiteful emotions. Quite literally cleansing the tension in the air, this is also why Corentin’s face never really changes. Constantly absorbing and gathering negative emotions everywhere around them since birth, their body quickly numbed to protect itself. As a child, they would constantly cry or show what people called a “demonic face” before they acclimated to the onslaught of the toxic emotions. It’s said that the most vitalizing source of disgruntled feelings is vengeful, but Corentin doesn’t actively seek these out. They get enough energy around them, so much so it actually keeps them up at night. Corentin constantly had sleeping issues but tried their best to deal with it alone, and often completed so much school work in advance because they were awake all night. Left with nothing to do, they spent their free time reading or sketching and fell in love with the world inside their own imagination. Excluded from the people around them, they spent their time with the friends they drew and reached out online to find friends of their own. There were some slip ups but they found good outlets and even started posting their art online! Watching shows, making fun with other fans- although their art does seem rather niche.
Their parents support them from afar and encourage them to pursue their passions, despite Corentin constantly denying that their art is any good. Despite their “shyness” as their parents put it, they encouraged them to go into art school and enroll into Novis Academy to continue their study for art. While the chances were low that they would be able to get accepted considering that the region they’re from isn’t exactly known for good students. Actually it’s more known for crime and corruption. But when Corentin was accepted, their parents managed to scrape up enough money to send them on a safe boat to the Visiva. It wasn’t exactly great when word got out as all their peers who were already isolating practically began harassing them for leaving. While they’re glad that they’re getting a better education, they did feel slightly guilty for leaving their region. Corentin felt shell-shocked coming without their family and feels constant pressure to achieve something great and trying to study something for a successful career. But their parents only want them to be happy and trust that they’ll know their way.

Corentin has insomnia, unable to sleep either completely or only able to sleep a maximum of 4 hours a night. They only wish for sleep and often run on fumes in the day
They get sleepy in the day and active at night
Corentin’s parents are Mismagius and a Jellicent. His father the Jellicent is actually of noble descent but decided to reject his status and instead marry his mother. His father doesn’t care about that and has cut contact with his disapproving family.
Coretin is actually attracted to places full of anger and misfortune in the day because of his need for energy, and thus people who know him know to stay away from these places.
Their room is neat yet messy, there isn’t anything on the floor but their desk is full of papers and art supplies and their bed isn’t ever made.
