Description
This last month has been quite difficult for me and I'm not really one for opening up to people, especially about problems I'm dealing with - I barely want to recognise or face them myself.
However as I'm finding out, you can't escape from your mind, it's hard to fight those enemies that reside in your head. Those little nagging voices swimming around that tell you you're not good enough no matter how hard you try or that you're weak if you admit to yourself that there's something wrong.
It isn't a nice place to be when you find yourself alone at times and those demons are all you have for company.
Painting this has helped me slightly and made me realise and come to terms with the fact that there will always be those inner demons present, though there are also people to help in dealing with those demons rather than keeping everything bottled in and to yourself.
Dealing with depression or anxiety etc does feel like a weakness and unfortunately there are people out there who judge you for it, but as a good friend said to me, being able to open up about it doesn't make you weak, it makes you the opposite for being able to come to terms and face it.
I am more than thankful that I know there are people I can turn to when things get dark and they offer me those little bits of light I can use to pick myself up again and continue on.
