Description A Scene in the barren land of Tai-Emer (in the North East of Emer) outlining just one of the danger's of wandering alone in the Shadow World!

The Shadow World is the Roleplaying Campaign World created by Eidolon Studios. This is going to be in one of the upcoming Shadow World products (and will definitely be in the Player's Guide to Emer even if it doesn't make it into the soon to be released Player's Guide to the World)

Yes, I now have Poser - Be afraid... be VERY afraid!!!
(I will do my best not to upload image after image of semi-naked Poser women - but I can't promise anything).

Character's posed in Poser and imported into Vue for the ground, background, bow, quiver and arrows as well as the lighting and rendered. Poser 8, Vue Complete 8.

The background looks like it's a flat image behind the scene (which it isn't) so I'm going to be working on fixing it in Vue for the final image.

EDIT: Altered the Vue landscape so it no longer looks like a simple background image.

Thanks for looking.

Have a look at My Sketchbook site for more Vue renders, illustrations and sketches.

Are those basal tetanuran theropods? What are tetanurans doing in a fantasy world desert? By the way, fantastic work!

Well - better than getting eaten without trying to defend yourself ... methinks.

I agree, that's what an intelligent person like yourself would do - but he does't strike me as the intelligent type... he did wonder into their territory alone. Fool!

I think the best he can hope for now is a quick death before they start eating him.

Poor fool ...but he's still a fool!

Very cool. I like the human's pose. There is one thing that bugs me about it though, me being the archery nut that I am. A bow design like that would never work. I mean, the recurving of the limbs is fine, but the way the string attaches to the shaft makes it so that you wouldn't be able to remove the string. If you were to keep the shaft of a bow under tension like that all the time, it would warp the wood/horn/composite material. Traditional bows usually have grooves in the shaft where you slip a loop of the bowstring into place. Something like this --> [link]

Or you could just tell me to shut up, what with this being a fantasy world and all that.

Shut up - this is a fantasy world!!!!

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

The actual bow was a purchased prop but I assure you I will make sure it's correct if I ever model a bow myself ...and I'll be fixing that sort of thing in post in the meantime.

(it's been a while but i used to love archery - I have my own bow with the appropriate notches as well)

I know this is a weird thing to single out, but I love the rocks scattered across the ground. They really add to the realism of the scene.

Very nice. I currently run a Rolemaster campaign set in Shadow World. Most of my art is inspired in one way or another by Terry's world. I'm looking forward to the Player's Guide.

The lighting and materials came out nicely in this render. It is usually tough to reconcile Poser skin with Vue materials and lights.
