Well, I wanted to paint something with a classical touch and a deep meaning (sorta)
Here is the result - the battle within Ray`s subconscious. Ray is trying to defeat his dark alter ego - Christian Blackthorne. Will captain van Oggenberg cut his rival`s head? I suppose, no. Because actually they are parts of the same whole, and this battle will never stop and will never have a certain winner. That`s the way Ray`s mind exists, somethig like this, philosophy for dummies, ha-ha
I always use to imagine the subconscious like a "place" (place?) full of some random stuff. In this corner of Ray`s mind we have: a zeppelin - symbolizes Ray`s military service; a dragon - no deep meaning, Ray`s job is to fight these creatures; an ice - refers to this picture; shields - emblems of the Ghelite (left) and Kangee-Yon (right), two units captain van Oggenberg served, as Ray and as Christian; an evaporating city and a clock are here because... because of surrealism!
Ray looks emotionless and Christian shows some kind of emotion (exactly the opposite they use to behave irl)  It was not intentional, but I like how it came out
Ray van Oggenberg (and his alter ego Christian Blackthorne) are my OC
Painted in Photoshop, Wacom Intuos tablet.
