A commissioned poster. Taste the rainbow of Evil!!
I never realized how colorful the villains of those 80s cartoons were. And I didn't realize that I had set up all the "blue" villains and all the "red" villains so closely grouped until after I started coloring. But it still looks good.This is one I had wanted to do anyway, but I didn't know how to stage them. Then one of my "regular customers" had the idea of commissioning it with Sauron's ring...which was genius! The original is 11x14 and this image is a bit "cropped" at the very top but (and I know I say this a lot, but this time it's true) I am extremely proud of the way this one turned out!!

As the saying goes, heroes and heroines are only as good as their villains. If the hero's only opponents are losers (none of whom could win a fight with a five year old), the show gets boring quickly, almost as boring as Superman with only muggers to fight.

Besides, you have Cobra Commander, and he was the chief villain of GI Joe series. Those other two... *snort* neither show lasted beyond one season. If you started including everyone from the "one hit wonders", you'd still be working on this piece! By all rights, The Peculiar Purple Pieman from Strawberry Shortcake and the evil wizard Gemini from Thundarr The Barbarian had more successful runs on television and a better reason to complain about being left out.

If all these guys did team up, along with other 80's villains the heros wouldn't stand a snowball's chance in hell.

I'm thinking about doing a photograph called the Trinity of evil, it's going to have the 2003 Shredder, Megatron, the only one I need is an action figure of Cobra if there isn't one. I've got to come up with another idea for the third villian.
