The twins thing I am guessing was marketing wanting to have a POV character for the kids to 'relate to.' The monkey thing I have no idea.

Although I can't say that I have had a crush on Jan (not in the sense of how you mean) I will say that she was one of the heroines whom I had a quite respect and admiration for and, like Jayna, one whom I imagined in situations like I pictured the Invisible Woman in.........DID. For some, the Damsel in Distress scenario is like chocolate fudge on a vanilla ice cream dessert, utterly delicious! mmmmm
