Personality: Growing up in a very sheltered household, one that wanted to keep her away from the battling life, Crystal is most definitely naive, still learning the finer mechanics of competitive battling. She's only barely begun not to trust others right away, given training she's gone through in the last few years from her mentor.
Given her 'gift', she's often very empathic as well...and when coupled with an innocent judgment of people and her poor luck, she often finds herself in compromising circumstances. Even with her mentor's help she still finds herself in trouble every so often. Her stupidity can become very frustrating at times...

Bio: Born and raised in Violet City, Crystal comes from a family of hardcore battlers. However, due to some events when she was seven, based on the principles of 'pay it forward', she was somehow given the gift to speak to Pokemon...one that would eventually taunt her from those wishing to use its power for nefarious purposes. To help prevent that, her protective mother did everything in her power to try and prevent her from leaving...but all to no avail as she left on her own journey.
Soon though, she found herself in a heap of trouble with an unspecified evil organization looking to misuse her ability to speak with Pokemon to their own advantage, to try and create the ultimate battling machine after brainwashing her and threatening her to behave, else her family would end up poorly.
Luckily enough, though, a vigilante tomboy under the name of Aeron Gunnar came to her rescue, and after striking a deal with Crystal, decided to become her mentor and help protect her from her own stupidity.
However, Aeron soon claimed that she had to go far away to handle an issue in Hoenn just around the time Crystal caught interest in the major tournament happening in the Ohana Islands. Giving her the stubborn Gengar Akuba to watch over Crystal in her leave, her longtime friend left, and hasn't been heard of since.
Crystal now seeks to enjoy her time at the Ohana Islands, watching as the chaos of battles start to unfold- and the final rounds begin!

THE TEAM

Name: Hurricane
Species: Pidgeot
Gender: F
Personality: Sassy is an understatement. Feeling that she's the queen and the driving force behind Crystal's team, she makes sure that her presence is well known to all nearby. Loud, obnoxious, and generally mean in her comments, it's tough to get on her good side.
Bio: Crystal met Hurricane as a tiny Pidgey being attacked mercilessly by a Rattata when she fell from her nest and hadn't been able to fly. Since saving her, the two became friends- and even closer when Crystal gained her gift. After a brief separation when her trainer was kidnapped, Hurricane has done everything in her power to ensure she stays safe- even if it means giving her partner a few well deserved pecks of sense.

Name: Dragola
Species: Dragonair
Gender: F
Personality: Young and inexperienced, Dragola was born from an egg Aeron had and was given as a sort of makeshift replacement starter Pokemon. Due to her nature, she was very easy to befriend for Crystal- but very difficult to train successfully. It's taken Dragola two years to get to where she is now, and even still she has her stupid moments, much like her bubble-headed trainer.

Species: Gengar
Gender: M
Personality: Brought back into the world by powerful feelings of vengeance, Akuba exists now to cause all sorts of pain and mischief...well, that was until he got captured. Even now, he seeks out easy scares to help feed his appetite for revenge while he seeks answers on the trainer and their Pokemon that killed him. Despite being a royal douchebag jokester though and quoting old movies for their obscure references, he doesn't give Crystal as much shit as others. Unless she's done something stupid. Then he fully enjoys making her miserable. So most of the time.
Bio: Reborn as a Haunter after he was murdered, Akuba barely remembered any of the time while he was living. However, after being captured and trained, he began realizing just what happened- and seeking revenge. However, his new master soon fell prey to the same trainer that had killed him in his living life, and after he was adopted by Aeron, he made it quite clear he sought revenge. Soon, however, he found himself being forced to babysit Crystal as Aeron jetted off to look into the matter more. The two don't necessarily get along, but even saying that is something for Akuba.
Note: Due to his spiritual nature, Akuba has gained a rough concept of English...most of it very crude language, via telepathy. He prefers not to use it, instead harassing Crystal through her gift.
