Whew, finally done! 4 months later...XD

Commission #2 for . She wanted my Tiyka with her Aytrianti, in Earthen modern clothes. I wasn't planning on doing an ocean in the background, buuuuuuut that's what ended up happening. I speedpainted the background, so I don't think I'll ask for any more for this. All the same...just glad it's done.

In terms of the lineart...I like, redid it three times to get to this point. Trust me, you don't wanna see the first concept sketch. It was BAD. I'm still honestly not satisfied with certain points of the picture's lineart (Tiyka's head positioning, for example!), but I'm done. I'm not touching this anymore. XP

In terms of coloring...I surprisingly went too dark on Aya's skin at first. (LOLWHUT? CRYSTAL GOING DARK IN COLORS?) She was nearly legit black. In all honesty, I think that contrast may have emphasized certain concepts of this picture, but it was dark...so I lightened it up. Tiyka should have also been much lighter, but last minute I decided against the hue-sat changes to her skin. I know she's fair because she's from the deep sea and all, and I've seen myself ghostly pale in the mirror before, but I still didn't want to take all that time and fuss over it. She's pale enough for me to get away with it. And yes, she does have sunburn. Silly girl probably didn't use a strong enough sunblock.

I actually made the tattoos for Tiyka as a brush first, so sorry if they're a little weird.

Guh makes me wanna go to the beach. Weather's really crappy though and parking's always a bitch and it's far away D: Maybe I'll go another day.

Well, back to the grinder. Many things to do still, and very little time to do them. *bustles off to get dying fleece again*

...D'OH. I FORGOT TO PUT AYA'S TATTOO IN THERE. SHIT. *waits another 30 minutes to re-upload the pic...*
