The first photo of my "Jamaica Series"This photo is from the first night I arrived in Jamaica and I was staying at the Beache's Resort in Negril Jamaica. After I put my stuff in my room I ran out to the beach with my camera gear to capture my first sunset in Jamaica. I was instantly sold that Jamaica is special place in the world

Impressive colors and silhouette. I haven't been to Jamaica yet but I am planning to get there soon. I love the tones in the sky and the warmth you have been able to cature.

Lovely warm colours and the slightly soft feel the blurred silhouette of the woman gives the picture add up to a nice lazy, end-of-the-day feel.

That is a wonderful scenery. Sunsets just have unlimited beauty, and I'm sure it must have been 10x better just seeing it in person! Hehe, with a trip to the beach it couldn't get any better. I love the colors you've captured. The composition with the sillhouetted women is great, but I really wish there was no motion blur there. Glad to hear you had a good trip Mark!

Great start to the series, Mark - color me jealous. And speaking of color, this is absolutely brilliant and chock full of different things to keep your interest. From the beach, to the water, to the girl - even to the obscure land beyond, it's magic tot he eye. I have to admit, I'm torn between how I feel about the woman in motion in such a quiet motionless seen, but it still works here.

the only thing i dont like about it is that it shows movement in the girl there walking. maybe a shorter shutter speed would have helped. other then that, its an incredible shot. so beautiful.

Gorgeous capture! The warm orange hues of the setting sun feel so welcoming and comforting. Very beautiful. I love the slightly blurred silhoutte of the girl; thought I'm not usually one for people in nature pictures, the movement of her gives the image a "fleeting moment" feel - you know that it's not a static moment in time. The sun will eventually set, and dusk will take over the sky.
The sky is lovely, it looks as though it was drawn in pastels; oranges, soft blues, pale yellows..... The reflection on the water is great as well, and I can almost imagine the sound of the waves lapping gently at the shore in the approaching evening. The composition is wonderful as well - I love how the water in the tidal pool area leads your eye around towards the back left, where my attention is captured by the boats - which appear to be heading home. Since we usually read things left to right, seeing the boats heading to the left, for me, indicates a return trip. My only nit-pickyness is that the horizon line is every-so-slightly off - the right side of the sky dips down lower than the left side.
