I have been painting on odd surfaces for years now and thought i would share some pics of those works here ... this is mostly tole painted stuff but are my own designs.Related content

I can't believe you havent even recieved one comment on this! anyway, really cute design. The colours are great too. I've done some boxes and decopage sort of stuff as well; but nothing nearly this nice. Is this done in acrylics?

Thanks. Yes it was done in acrylics ... just a bit of tole painting. I sell lots of this kind of stuff & this one is long gone.

tole painting is a style of painting, very common on surfaces besides canvas... boxes, furniture, walls, ect.
usually it involves a pattern outline and detailed instructions but I prefer to create my own designs and I find it is alot more fun. In the beginning I used patterns and guides until I learned the different styles of brush strokes & color blending. Noe I just find a surface I want to paint on and let my creativity take over. I have a really cool chair in my work area waiting for me to get some inspiration LOL

I actually taught myself LOL.... there are tons of free patterns and instructions on the net. Most will give you a supply list of what colors and stuff you need and there are lots of free guides too for learning the painting techniques. I will note you with some good links. And watch your local art supply store for books to go on sale
