Yup. Probably gonna try some other 'mons, like Dustox and Fearow. Come to think of it, Shiftry is pretty cool too... Either way, great tutorial! It's pretty darn cool to make a unique character you're proud of, especially when it's not one of the Eevees and Sneasels of the world. And the more love you put into that character, the more people might just start to love that Pokemon back, so even the unpopular Pokemon get a fighting chance as characters, and they're often the most unique and interesting of all.

You know this feels like some of the stuff that went through my brain when I created my old PMD team, and when I went to create my other team. I sometimes worried however about those reactions, about staying consistent. That's one place I've always struggled with, "Is my work consistent." and for more recent times I've felt like it wasn't consistent enough.

actually, the main problem is that someone is more or less skilled naturally. so, for someone it takes 1-2 attemps and they're good at it; someone has to draw a LOT to become decent. but it's always possible, because there are so many ways to approach art - technical, precise drawing - abstraction - painting or drawing... so many ways.

Sneasels and Eevees can be very creative...if used correctly. "Overused" pokemon are my favorites because it poses the challenge "How can I make my character stand out?" I get what you mean, though. There definitely needs to be more strange pokemon being used.

This is awesome! Glad that I'm already following it to some extend, cos I'm pretty sure I'm the only one in PMDU with a Bergmite
Then again my Bergmite is with a Fletchling, and that's fairly common

The random Pokémon generator is a good resource too because it generates random Natures, so you even get the beginnings of a personality!

I've made a couple of less popular choices, like using a Grumpig on my team, whos turned out to be one of my more well recieved characters because nobody tends to use them x3
I feel like I do tend to stick to norms though, but thats more of a reason to try and flesh them out character wise!

I totally agree with this! In fact, I often go out of my way to choose "less popular" Pokemon to have as my characters - and even if they ARE popular, they aren't being used as often in the group. My personal rule is to choose a Pokemon that is not in use: I want to stand out, after all, and what better way than to highlight those 'mon that don't get as much love? (Eevee, I love ya, but you're like rabbits you're everywhere!) XD
And now I want to make a Whiscash character too, lol
