The western cliffs stretched as far as the eye could see and the sea went even further. Sprau had not been here since he had was a colt, many years ago. He looked around. nothing had changed in the time he had been away, at least 30 years, except or him, that was. He was his own horse now and he could go where he pleased. He could go up to the highest cliff and feel the wind and water batter against the land that had stood its ground for so long, just like he could stood his ground against Hekse. Sprau looked at the sun, sinking into the ocean and smiled. It was time to let the past die. Time to embrace a new life and a new way. He was ready for whatever the world could throw at him. He could triumph over it all.

I actually finished this a few days ago, but I made myself wait to upload it because I wanted to post it on the last day of the year. This scene takes place right after Sprau leaves Hekse to live on his own.
