Description Once upon a time, I didn't know what Supernatural was, beyond a CW show that was supposed to be scary and have a rather intimidating fan-following. And then, I marathon the entire series one particularly boring August and wound up becoming addicted.

FML.

My impression of the first two and a half seasons.

I have more chibis to post in the days or weeks or months to come. Castiel chibis, anyone?

Nope, you're whoever you are right now, speeding towards whoever you will be, possibly in the direction of whoever you are meant to be.

I am a fish.

Awww, I love the little ghostie! And Castiel chibi?!?

(We've had the bug since the beginning but currently have to play catch up on five episodes from last season.)

"The Monster at the End of this Book" episode is what finally convinced me to watch this show.

And, yes, Castiel chibi in progress. And a Jimmy chibi too (I <3 Jimmy). Is it me, or was season four dedicated to converting a good portion of the fanbase into Misha Collins' fans? Because Castiel (and Jimmy) were just......UNF.

Heheheh, yes yes which is why I think Carla & I had a harder time getting into it then say 2 & 3... Not that I don't like me a scruffy pretty angel - I do, I quite like, buuuuut I also went brain-on-superheroes and died under a stack of comics for last two years. Things are brightly colored and of a spandex origin around our house.

Woohoo for season 5 ^_^ but I still hold out and maintain my stubborn persistence that Smallville comes first on the Blysslove scale. It has since HS and endured, painfully, and slowly, with us walking away from the fandom a gazillion times and being suck(ered) back in ~ But since love of the fandom was the very first thing that got me and Carla together? I'm a sucker for nostalgia and snugglies

And uh, conversion achieved I'd say - judging by the sheer amount of Misha-love I've seen.

Battlestar Galactica (the remake) was my show <3 I was with it at the very beginning, when Sci-fi aired the shiny three-part miniseries.

Supernatural doesn't come close to filling the void left by BSG, sadly. I don't think anything ever will. My heart was broken by the series finale (though I think it was the best way they could have ended things without opening a new can of worms or two). SPN does offer me plenty of material for crack, though.

I never watched BSG so I can't offer anything there. I was a Buffy addict, but re-watching it isn't quite as fulfilling, and without all the little hidden nods to the actual comics in Smallville it'd never hold my attention.

We don't watch very much television. I catch some things that interest on Hulu but for the most part we're dedicated in movies and comics. Waaaay too dedicated in comics ^_^.

Carla's been feelings slightly nostalgic toward some anime lately. Mostly I think we're probably going to have to rewatch x/1999 sometime soon since someone at her work is forcibly twisting her arm to try and get her to RP it.

And I will admit to totally being slightly psyched about Vampire Diaries coming up buuut, having read the series when I was like 14 or so and knowing what the characters are supposed to be like the casting looks like a disaster, so I'm assuming I'll catch the pilot, gag, and then return to my safely cliche and cheesy shows .

I caught the last 5 minutes of the premiere of Vampire Diaries. From the point of view of a person who's never read that LJ Smith series (I read another one of her's years ago, but I completely forget anything about it except having read it), it was okay :/ They're going very much for the Twilight niche, I think. The hero looked too much like R-Pattz for my liking.

I know how Carla feels on the nostalgia. I broke down and started watching anime again, but only the stuff put out by Gonzo (a studio in Japan). You guys might like their interpretation of Count of Monte Cristo - Gankutsuou. That one really impressed me <3 I also caught the first half of the first episode of Gonzo's 'Romeo+Juliet', in which Juliet is a genderbending revolutionary masquerading as a Scarlet Pimpernel-esque masked vigilante, and Romeo is a fop...with a pegasus. Gonzo's reinterpretations of classic Western canon is science fiction-y.

Mostly, I've been revisiting old anime series, like 'His and Her Circumstances' (a guilty pleasure) and 'Escaflowne'.

Those sound cool.

I read all of LJ Smith's books when I was younger. The fav (for me and Carla coincidentally) being the Forbidden Game books, but I also read her Secret Circle books, the Nightworld series, and her one shots. Vampire Diaries didn't hold my attention well when I was younger - it seemed rather silly to read it when I was reading The Vampire Chronicles as they came out, and to fill the teen vamp void Buffy was a much better alternative.

Twilight-niche: Blergh. I haven't read the books but late one night involving too much sugar and a desire to see 'if vampires really do sparkle' we checked the movie out and settled in for some good time mockery. The movie was surprisingly not bad, just a teen vamp story like so many others I read back when Fear Street was actually popular and I was a lot younger.

(Uh, warning spoilers below if you care)

I have to admit - I want to see if they make the fourth book I believe? Into a movie? The simple summary of "ripped her uterus open with his fangs..." has me wondering how they would show that in a pg-13 rated movie...

If we get the itch to branch out on any anime we'll look up that Romeo and Juliet. It sounds fun and we're on a Scarlet Pimpernel kick right now, just got the CD.

omg, adorable xD

I too didn't know what Supernatural was, until my cousin let me borrow season one set, and I watched the entire thing in a marathon that got me and my parents hooked XD

I got my mom hooked on it too! And my sister, who normally doesn't watch mainstream television shows, has expressed an interest in borrowing them from me.

The season four episode, "The Monster at the End of this Book" is what made me break down and start watching.

haha, sweet xD I've just recently been getting a few of my friends into it too. It's a very addicting show.

Mm, I can't recall what that episode was about off the top of my head :/ Mind refreshing my memory?

That episode was the one where the boys find out that their lives are being chronicled in a collection of horror novels written by a hack writer, who turns out to be a prophet (complete with prophetic visions and an archangel as a bodyguard - unbeknown to any of them until Castiel tells them).
