This is a cool shot.. great use of the sunset, as well as application of the time-lapse technique. I like this shot very much, if you couldn't tell.

actually it was about 1/2 past midnight when I started taking my shots for the star trails... the light I think is from the moon... or from the city lights behind us in the distance... not sure...

Love the effect of the clouds in this. The star trails are a bit to disjointed though for my liking.

I agree... the startrails are choppy... but that's cause I had to remove a few of the frames... the clouds kept coming in and ruining my shots... LOL

nice one thinking about getting out there and trying a star trail, the best aperture to use is f2.8 and up the ISO?

I did in this instance for short exposures... but i could shoot at f5.6 ISO 800 and do 5 minute exposures as well...

ok with the D90 is there alot of noise when you shoot at 1600

but you can subtract dark frames with noise matrix so as to remove noise

would you just use noiseware pro?

I don't know the programme I would do it in Photoshop (though this programme has quite good quality noise remover in Filters) or if it were Deep Sky photo I'd use Deep Sky Stacker (just load your starred photos as light frames and noise matrices as darks - the programme subtracts them automatically while stacking).

Yup, just 30 minutes... once I get the new cable for my shutter boss wireless remote, I'll be able to program it for 3 hours or so...
