Description
No where is apparently safeTechnical:
I may sound like a broken record but I generally have an idea when I see stock. I skim fairly frequently through the stock submissions at least once daily (sometimes more)... I find that concepts just leap out at me. It has gotten to the point though that I have had to be very organized because my stock faves are approaching unmanageable
This was a "warm up" piece, meaning that I was practicing some techniques for an even more complicated piece. I tried a couple of new things with trying to meld the sidewalk with the original image and altering the perspective... originally it had to hard of an edge so I worked on making the grass encroaching (as it usually does on a real sidewalk).
In terms of the model... I did my standard smoothing/cleansing/preparation on the skin (the longest part of the process but how I love the Heal tool)... I played with multiple layers for the coloration and created 3 layers for adding the shiny effect (still perfecting that with practice)...
A special thanks to the following stock providers:

A mad scientist bored and driving around aimlessly, his eye peeled for appropriate subjects...? Hey! I resemble that remark! Might be old, but I like this one.

LOL. Thanks I've wanted to revisit the whole idea as something of an off the cuff short maybe 3d or maybe in 2d as I'm better now than when I did that one

Thanks, it was a good pic. An even though I don't know that much about art I think it is a good idea to look back every so often.

I have a couple of pieces along these lines in process... as the concept just amuses me... you can compare them to this one... which was one of my earlier works Thanks for the feedback I really appreciate it

Excellent work on the dollification!
I do have a suggestion for the grass and pavement thoguh... Try smoothing then sharpening the edge of the pavement, to give it a harder appearance. Then, try to add a few overhanging blades of grass on the sidewalk. Remember grass is not a solid object like a rock, it only looks that way because of the blades of grass being so close together.

I did more of an encroaching grass rather than maintaining the edge, though I can look into that this week as well and play more. So what you saw was on purpose as much as the hard line was driving me nuts... and getting a single blade of grass or a clump wasn't working either but I will try again... thanks bud

Hehe I kinda figured that as well...
Instead of trying to single out one blade of grass (etc...) try just painting a blade or two on a separate layer than copying/pasting it where you want them - just flip/smudge/distort them a bit so they all look a little different.

Yep I'll experiment a tad with it as it is a technique I need to perfect Thanks!
