This is so relatable. I say something to my mother about reality, and she thinks Iβm being negative. -_-

Well, once I was talking to my mom's friend, I was venting and he told me not to talk about things that upset me and about more exciting things. Well, back then, I was upset as frick and really couldn't think of anything good.

That's exactly how I feel! A lot of the time people approach things with an element of cynicism and get accused of being negative, when indeed they are only looking at it with a realistic eye.

I never claimed negativity is realism. There is a difference between them, and sometimes people mistake the sober view of reality as someone being negative, when that someone is only being realistic.
