Description

This is from my first story "The Street Urchin". Oscar, the brown headed lad, is the main character of the story. Hes usually is haunted by dreams of his younger brother, Edwin, who died a few years back of a mysterious illness (its still a wip on that part but this is the Georgian era so he could have died from a number of diseases... but I'm thinking about making it scarlet fever however I feel like I need to do more research on it just to make sure) shortly after they were orphaned. Usually in his dreams Edwin appears normal and him and Oscar share a heartfelt meeting however as soon as the angel (whom Oscar later on gives the name Amiel) Edwin seems to slowly rotten away due to him. Oscar can't bear to see his brother like this because him dying was his last images of him that's forever burnt into his mind however the angel threatens and commands Oscar to glaze upon his dying brothers face. The last image he usually see before he wakes up is of the statue's face, who he thinks is his mother due to its face, tears and wine cup. You see, Oscar's Mother drank herself to death shortly Edwin became a child for unknown reasons to Oscar. His mother is a statue in the dreamland which represents how she couldn't do anything for her two sons after her death and shows the sorrow she feels for both of them. Oscar also thinks Amiel is the dream form of the angel of death due Edwin rotting away slowly after he appears and in some dreams he goes as far "killing" Oscar in the dream if he refuses to look upon his brother's face. However, later on as the progress that theory's flame is put out...
