Was this done with the pentel brush pen? The ink from mine always looks grey-ish rather than solid black, not sure if it's just mine though. Either way, I love the traditional brush work you guys pull off, always looks super stylish.

Yup, this was pentel brush on cardstock. The ink should be pretty black--if you're seeing gray you might have a bum ink cartridge. The black won't be completely flat though, you'll see some brush strokes.

If you have an inkjet syringe ([link] ) you can also refill them. We use Koh-I-Noor
Ultradraw 3085-F ([link] ) and it works really well.

Thanks for the info! That'll definitely be a cheaper option; those cartridges aren't terribly cheap
