Description
My half of an art trade with ~Tokubon of her unnamed dragon character. The scanner messed with the colours a bit - the green and yellow is a bit softer in person.
Critique welcomed (:

Thank you (:
I used a gel pen to make the horns appear shiny.

Lovely drawing! You really captured the sense of volume in the creature, particularly in the head. For how to overcome the white specks of uncolored paper, you need to get your pencil quite sharp and target those areas with the tip of your pencil. I don't know what kind of pencils you're using, but I think it's much easier to do with Prismacolors and other higher quality pencils.

Thanks very much and again for the tips, my pencils are quite cheap in comparison to the Prismacolor/other high quality brands. Sadly 'til I get a little thing called monies I can't buy anything a little more high quality

I understand; really good art supplies are very expensive, especailly when you don't have much money to begin with! D: I also feel that building up the color slowly with a sharp pencil makes it easier to keep a smooth, even layer of color. That's easier done with a better quality pencil, but with a little patience, I think you can achieve the same effect with cheaper pencils. With that process, it's also easier to blend different colors through a series of light layers.

Yeah, if it's quality, it's going to expensive.
Thank you again for the tips, I'll keep them in mind.

I gasumed with pure joy when I saw this last night, and again this morning. c8
He looks absolutely STUNNING~!! ahjahnae is right, you do make traditional art look easy. I envy your skills, I really do. :3
I love his expression, he looks really thoughtful...and it looks like he's trying to pay attention to someone, or something. His eyes look like they express some sort of awkwardness. I think it's cute! It's like "i'm trying to be nice and listen to you and your long dull story, but I kinda wanna go back in my cave."
I don't know, i'm odd like that~ 3
But anyway...
I F_CKING LOVE IT SO MUCH!
Hayley luvs you forevarr now~ ;3
