Because Snake Eyes is one of my many raving obsessions~
I know that there's this unfortunate canon about Snake Eyes and Scarlett being a couple. Now, before anyone tries to hate on me for saying that, I'm really not trying to bash any of you SE/S fans; I know there's like a million of you out there, but I simply don't share your enthusiasm is all.
Besides, I just thought it was funny how in Resolute there was the hinting of a Duke/Scarlett canon which made me laugh. Again, no offense to all you SE/S shippers, but as far as I'm concerned Duke can have Scarlett. In my humble opinion, Snake Eyes belongs to the fans!

Duke and Scarlet? Well, it's sort of mixed. My impression was that it started out with Snake Eyes and Scarlet being the canon pair, but Scarlet ops to help Duke on his mission rather than go with Snake Eyes; on said mission, Scarlet decides to stay behind with the injured Duke rather than save herself, claiming that she's finally made up her mind as to "what" and "who" she wants and she's going to stay and see it through to the end.
That makes me think Duke and Scarlet are the actual canon pair in Resolute, but it's probably open to interpretation.

that makes some sense with duke and scarlet. I always thought scarlet and snake eyes were a thing i see them hanging out togther all the time in comics and other forms of art

Actually, Snake Eyes and Scarlet are the original canon pair on G.I.JOE; the Duke/Scarlet pairing is a recent development that quite a few of the original G.I.JOE fans from the 80s and 90s are not too thrilled about. lol

No it isn't. Β The Bible for the writers of the 80's cartoon explicitly paired Duke and Scarlett. Β That was in 1983.

The pairings vary a lot depending on the series/continuity, but Resolute made it look like Scarlett stayed with Duke even though she is originally meant for Snake Eyes.

From the way I look at it, the original story is the canon. Everything else is fanfiction or writers/producers being lazy and not wanting to develop a relationship with a faceless mute. (Which, I will say, is not an easy thing to do. However, it can be done.)

I'm very glad that you still like it! I'm really not trying to bash on the SnakeEyes/Scarlett pairing at all, I know they have a massive fan-base; I just found it funny that in Resolute there was a bit a hint at the Duke/Scarlett pairing, and I thought it'd be funny to make a demotivational on Snake Eyes's side of it. Nearly 30 years of Snake Eyes and Scarlett being a couple just thrown away because that writer got lazy and actually hated the G.I. Joe comics. Snake Eyes Belongs to Larry Hama, someone who made it clear that Scarlett is with Snake Eyes.

Newsflash, dumbass, I ship SE/OCs. Snake Eyes with a canon pairing is no fun in my opinion; I am well aware that Snake and Scarlett have been portrayed as a couple for going on 30 years now and I know they have a huge-ass fanbase (of which I am not really a part of).
And the "everyone knows Duke has a thing for Scarlett" was in reference to the Resolute movie where they made it a glaring possibility that Duke and Scarlett might get together at or sometime after the end.
Learn how to take a joke and don't bash on everyone whose opinions differ than your own, you troll.
