I've seen very few funny deliveries of this joke. Some cute pictures based on this lameme but were not funny. And a lot of pure lameness involving this meme.I used a slightly modified version of this template: [link]
Wow, this stamp reeeeeally pissed some pony off. XD He tried to troll all over the comments down here, and it's ogotten to the point where I'll block an account and he'll come back with another. Man is he peeved.
And all I gotta do is block him and hide his comment thus ruining the effort of logging out, logging into another account and typing up another wall of text that nopony will ever read. Far too easy.
The sad thing (besides how easy this is) is that the silly filly, actually thinks he's winning some sort of argument, like my emotional state was up for debate. He's getting all mad because he thinks that I'm mad about something... I forget what because in the time since I made the stamp I've worked on these:

As well as various commissions that are still pending. My new wife's car's broken down twice, we had to take my mother-in-law to the hospital twice.. and he thinks I'm mad that people suck at telling jokes?

So if my making this stamp proves I'm mad, then him making that stamp proves I pissed the idiolt off really badly. But hey, he does say that in his head canon carmel wants one of his friends to kill him. So I guess nobody can falsley accuse him of being smart.

Agreed! I also dislike the "Applejack Best Background Pony" and "Molestia, Trollestia & Tyrane Celestia" jokes, these jokes makes the characters look bad.
Also, they're my favourite ponies (favourite CMC, favourite pony and favourite princess), I don't like the jokes between them.

Yes, thank you! AJ is my second fave (after dash) and I don't understand why she is called the "best background pony" also molestia is just no. And trollestia is one of the most annoying things ever. I don't think I have heard of Tyrane celestia tho.

If I ever made a picture of just Scootaloo and that's all they commented, I would be beyond pissed. Yeah, if it was a funny Scootaloo picture it would be alright, but I can't agree more that the joke is not needed where it's not appropriate.

You know, somepony could do a fanfic in the style of a "written episode", basically, a fanfic that has content which could legitimately be part of the show. Seeing as the people at Hasbro are hell bent on denying Scoots an episode,seeing a well written fanfic would be a good alternative.

I'm talking about people just going around calling her a chicken. Based off of the episode "The Stare Master" where Apple Bloom calls Scootaloo as if she were a chicken. I've seen some good retellings of the joke. But this refers to people that just go around and say "chicken" on anything Scootaloo related. Which seems disrespectful to the artist if the artist was not making a scootachicken joke.

To be honest I really don't know where this meme even came from. I feel like I missed something when I was watching the episodes. In what episode is Scootaloo called a chicken? All I remember is her being called a dodo in the season2 pilot episode. "Don't call me things I don't know the meaning of!" xD

It was in the episode "The Stare Master" in which Fluttershy takes care of the CMCs. Fluttershy's chicken Elizabeak gets out and the CMCs go after it. A bit of bantering between Scoots and Apple Bloom and Apple bloom says "Oh wait, I know how you call a chicken! Scoot Scoot Scootaloo!"
And since then there'sbeen a meme about Scootaloo being a chicken. Which has been excuted both well and really rather poorly. I've seen some going around saying "Chicken!" on pictures of scootaloo... and thats the only comment they leave on a picture that is not intended to invoke the meme.
And that sort of disrespect being shown toward some artists is what this stamp refers to.

I didn't say they were bothering me. Personally I only have problems with how most of the heard executes the joke.

That's not an ego thing. This stamp was made to protest something. And then people come right into this place here and do the very thing the stamp was proteting. So regardless of anything else, this area was set up as an anti-lame execution, and what id these bronies, (yourself to a minor degree) come in and attempt to do?
This is an image sharing section of the site. Not primarily a discussion section. and most of the comments in here are not discussing the quality of the work, but are rather pathetic attempts at trolling.
It's much like someone drawing a picture of any of the ponies, and people coming in to talk about how lame ponies are.
You don't have to be insulting to troll, you know.
But like I said, my only problem is with its execution.
I've drawn several pictures of Scootaloo, and have had people come in and post "Chicken!" in the comments.
Not a word on the quality of the work or its presentation or any legitimate art critique points. Just "Chicken!".

(Really I agree with you in that I don't understand why it became a thing - the joke in the show was funny but not all that exploitable, but nothing ponies-related is lame. Except maybe some Rule 34 stuff.)

I actually don't care that the joke exists, this is more or less to point out how poorly executed most ponies make it.
Some will just go "Chicken!" when they see Scootaloo and that's it. Not very imaginative. Like I told somepony else, the picture of Scootaloo in Fluttershy's hair with the title "A chicken in a tree" is actually a clever way to present the joke.
