I was recently reading The Ruby in the Smoke by Phillip Pullman and decided to do this...I tried to capture the link between the ruby and the opium smoke, and also the description of the light in the ruby as is in the book

It's really good. The Ruby in the Smoke is one of my favourite books! The last one in the series spoilt it though...

I have only read the first two in the series and loved them... but the fact that the last two were always unavailible at the library meant i couldn't finish the series....
