Background:

Emilia Klein grew up an orphan in a rural village in the German countryside. Braving through her difficult start in life, she got a good education and went to a local university where she excelled in computers and technology, eventually getting her first job as an IT and cyber security specialist for a small bank in Berlin. Despite being successful and intelligent, Emilia often had a hard time interacting with other people, due to the hard life she had experienced while growing up. When she stopped a cyber terrorist group from attempting to hack into her bank's accounts, she drew the attention of a new cyber security force that was being organized by the United Nations and she soon found herself working for the international peace keeping agency.

Wanting to help others, Emilia eventually moved into a tech support role for the UN's humanitarian aid missions in Northern and Central Africa, providing her expertise on the ground while also assisting with rescue efforts. While still finding it difficult to trust those her age, she found special bonds with many of the children that she interacted with during her work. Unfortunately she also discovered that even the UN was prone to corruption and had a dark underbelly, the brilliant computer specialist discovering a plot to transport weapons on a train full of refugees bound for Egypt. Before she could confront her superiors about using the refugees as a cover to move ordinance, the train was attacked by a militant group seeking to obtain the weapons for their own guerrilla forces. Their attack caused the train to derail, leading to a gruesome crash that left many dead and severely injured Emilia.

Despite a broken hip, shattered knee, an arm broken beyond repair, and a piece of metal shrapnel embedded in her left eye, Emilia heroically pulled herself from the burning wreckage and managed to rescue several refugee children from a damaged train car before she succumbed to her grave injuries. In the aftermath of the incident, the UN swept everything under the rug and Emilia was left abandoned in a busy Cairo hospital clinging to life by a thread in an induced medical coma. Thankfully she was discovered by Doctor Layla Asheera, who was there helping with the care of the refugee children. Realizing normal medicine would not save Emilia, and unable to find any next of kin, Layla had her moved to her special lab and with the assistance of her close friend Tiffany Anderson, was able to use her advanced cybernetic implants to save Emilia's life. Using a mix of her cyber tech and Tiffany's advanced nanite research, Layla was able to rebuild Emilia's arm and replace her shattered knee and ruined eye.

Unfortunately the accident left Emilia with many scars, both physical and emotional, though she was able to heal and gain control of her rebuilt body under Layla's watchful care. After several months of rehabilitation, she found herself blessed with special abilities as a result of the experimental surgery that saved her life. Wanting a new start in life, she moved to Steel City so she could be close to Tiffany for any medical work she needed, while Layla used her connections to get Emilia her job back with the UN at their small field office in Steel City. Layla was concerned the UN had established the office to observe meta humans, and wanted Emilia to be there so she could keep an eye on things and make sure the world's governments weren't attempting to find ways to control super humans. While a bit reluctant to work for her former employer, Emilia wanted to help Layla and Tiffany keep an eye on things, and given that she was the only one employed in the small field office, the job gave her privacy and stability.

Once she fully mastered her cybernetic abilities, she developed her own special bio-armor suit and began to assist Steel City's heroes in their fight against evil, taking on the name Stinger for her heroic activities. She also became a liaison to the SCPD's newly developed Meta Human Response Team, helping Tiffany with tech support for the new group led by Tiffany's fiance Ashley Coleson. While still reserved in her personal life, Emilia began to open up a bit more, even befriending Sabrina Doherty and Cassie Clarke, fellow techies, along with Melinda Crane at a Crane Foundation fundraiser. Putting down roots in Steel City inspired Emilia to gain US citizenship, and she eventually built a small home in the countryside near the farm where Elizabeth and John Carter lived. Her life took an even bigger turn for the better when new field agent and ambassador Ariadne Andrews, a beautiful amazon princess from the mythical island of Iathus, was assigned to her office. While initially awestruck and a bit intimidated by Princess Ariadne's beauty and grace, she soon found her new partner to be rather down to Earth and the two of them eventually formed a strong friendship that led to romance.

Ariadne eventually joined Emilia in assisting the MHRT, under the civilian guise of Ariana Andrews, while in secret donning her beautiful battle armor to become the heroine Amazon. The princess eventually confessed her heroic and dual identity to Emilia as they grew closer, which helped boost Emilia's confidence, knowing that such an important secret had been trusted to her. Despite this, she still struggled with a few deep rooted issues, and had trouble finding the confidence to tell Ariadne that she was Stinger. Seeking guidance from Tiffany on the issue, she decided to reveal her own dual identity, but before she could she found herself in the midst of a warehouse brawl as she and Amazon attempted to stop a corrupt bio-tech executive from selling modified genetic implants on the black market. The princess told her to escape while she battled a multitude of mercenaries, but she hid nearby and watched in horror as the executive revealed that the deal was a trap to capture Amazon, the heroine having successfully stopped several of her other illegal transactions.

Amazon fought valiantly, but was eventually overwhelmed by sleeping gas and electrical shock prods, the beautiful princess captured and imprisoned in chains as the corrupt executive's next hopeful specimen. Staying hidden in the shadows, Emilia contacted the SCPD for back up and then decided she could no longer keep her secret from Ariana. Transforming into Stinger, she used her skills to disable the warehouses security and broke into the makeshift cell where Amazon was being kept heavily sedated. Reviving her partner, she confessed her love for her and revealed her dual identity quietly before helping Amazon escape her chains. Together they used the element of surprise to take down the illegal genetic engineering operation, while also preventing the executive from escaping with Amazon's blood samples. Still feeling a bit weak after the ordeal, Princess Ariadne returned to her island home, bringing Emilia along with her to meet her sisters. A bit nervous to be in such a special place, Emilia found her confidence further restored when the amazons accepted her as Ariadne's lover and made her an honorary sister. She and Ariadne enjoyed a romantic week on the island before returning to Steel City, where Emilia used her newly restored confidence to fully embrace her role as Stinger.

Powers and Abilities:

Bio-Armor and Cybernetics: After her experimental surgery, Emilia found that she could create a layer of bio-nanite armor over her body. Reinforced by her cybernetics, it grants her incredible durability and resistance from injury. The only drawback is that physical blows will wear out her stamina and mental state, with severe damage forcing her to revert to her normal human form. Emila's left eye is a cybernetic implant designed to look like a normal human eye, but it allows her to see in night vision and infrared modes, and can also display diagnostic information about systems she is hacking into.

Armor Constructs: Emilia is able to manipulate the nanites in her body to create external constructs, most often in the form of sharp needle shaped objects which she can use for a multitude of things, such as injecting her opponents with toxic nanites, or hacking a computer node. She can also inject healing nanites into an ally to help them recover from injury or sedation.

Increased Agility and Physical Strength: Cybernetic implants allow Emilia to jump higher and run faster than a normal human. She also has enhanced strength that allows her to lift objects weighing up to 5 metric tons. Trained in combat by Jaguara, she is an agile and acrobatic fighter who uses speed and hit and run attacks to gain an advantage of her opponents.

Tactical Visor: To boost the capabilities of her armor, Emilia developed a special visor and neural interface that helps her have even more nuanced control over her bio-abilities and cybernetic implants. The visor also boosts the effectiveness of her cybernetic eye.

Armor Cloak: Emila's bio-armor can reflect light waves around her to make her utterly invisible to the naked eye and most sensors. This ability can only be used for a short time and is useful for helping her make tactical entrances and exits into and out of conflicts.

Random Facts:

Emilia still struggles with a lot of emotional baggage from her childhood and the train accident that nearly took her life. Her trust can be hard to gain and she can appear withdrawn at times at large social events, but she is fiercely loyal and protective of those who have earned her trust. Princess Ariadne is slowly helping her gain more confidence while healing her emotional scars.

Due to her body's advanced biological state, Emilia has a ravenous metabolism and can out eat just about anyone. Her favorite foods include scrambled eggs and bacon, chicken wings, potato soup, and lasagna. She has a particular weakness for Black Forest cake.

While in university, Emilia took advanced marital arts and fencing courses as electives. These later allowed her to be a swift and agile combatant.

Emilia's missions with the UN took her all over the world. She is fluent in English, German, and Arabic.
